Thanks again for another excellent and informative video! First time I went to turn on the headlights after purchasing my ‘02 Z they sort of stuttered and would not pop up (I did not check their function at time of purchase 😫), but all other electrical functions worked fine, so was stumped. Turned out to be a loose battery connection. Reseated it and tightened it up and no issues since (several years ago now).

This morning, after the wife had my Vette detailed for my Christmas present over the weekend. I haven't driven it until this morning except to get home. This morning I noticed that the passenger DRL is not coming on and when I jiggled the turn signal on the column it came on then off again. Leaving the turn signal to blink even though I didn't turn on the right turn signal. This is a 2003 Z06 and I'm thinking maybe the bulb somehow got lose or the turn signal arm is now with a bad contact. Your thoughts? BTW, great video again and wishing you and family a Happy New Years.

Thank you and happy new year! If jiggling the column headlight/signal lever makes it turn on and off - that does sound like the issue. Tony Corvette is likely your solution (sorry).

@@Toys4Life Now the signal arm isn't causing the intermittent signal to flash but no LED driving light. It's been raining so much here in Portland, Oregon I haven't had a dry day to check it out in the housing. My garage is full at the moment so no room for the Vette. Soon I hope as next week we'll have a few dry days. Thanks anyway. I'll see if I can't contact Tony Corvette.

When one realizes that the C5 almost never was to be developed and that GM VP Jim Perkins covertly funded the C5, I’m not surprised how much they cheaped out on so much of this car. Its resounding success allowed continued improvements throughout the C6 and C7 generations. That these cars are lasting over 20 years is still amazing.

Cool video ! I have a 1999 Corvette. My driver side headlight will sometimes "wink" like go up and down three times. My son found an old service bulletin and it says to replace the rubber "bumps" and it seemed to correct the problem but now it is doing it again. Any ideas ? Thanks.

2004 C5 owner, my driver side headlight will sometimes refuse to go down. It always goes up and there are no abnormal noises coming from the motor. I can usually get it to go down by wiggling the manual knob on the motor and trying the switch again, but this is also finicky and only works ~80% of the time. The passenger side headlight works as intended and both headlights have at least one bump stock on each end of travel. Thoughts on what it could be?

Make sure it is getting a good ground and power signal with a multimer and perhaps a voltage drop test - could be a tired HL motor.

Question - would the Bi-Directional OBD2 Scan Tool help trouble shoot why my door locks do not work and why I'm pretty sure the Memory 1 and 2 are not working either.

I think you could use the bi-directional control to rule out your door lock switches as being the problem. If the bi-directional control on the scan tool opens the doors just fine but the actual door lock button doesn't, then I would be focusing my efforts on the door lock switch or the wiring that goes from it.

I had to replace that headlight module once.So I basically pull my positive terminal off my battery because I know it will be parked for a couple months.Never had an issue until this one time.Hook the positive up and my right headlight popped up on its own. however not all the way up.Kind of like the the sleepy eye mod people have.Had to take to an auto electrician.Not sure why it fried that module has not happened again Because I still disconnect the battery.

I have HIDs in mine. The first time I installed them and turned the headlights on nothing happened. I had to switch them on and off several times before they decided to pop up. Found out the bulbs had to fully energize before they would pop up. Now I just turn them on and wait about ten seconds and then switch them off and on again and they pop up every time.
