Down and dirty quick check. If you can disconnect the return line at # 5 in your illustration. The fitting has a one-way valve in it. That will deadhead the system and push fuel pressure up to 80psi or better. Will get you home or at least off the side of the road.

Yea I just changed the regulator on mine today, there was a built up of something crunchy in the housing I removed 0.0 The fuel / water filter was clean, and I also pulled out the strainer/ electric fuel pump, which was also clean. The only thing I wish I had replaced also, was the fuel pressure sensor. I noticed when cleaning the housing. It was gunked up. Any way you have the part number for that =)

I have a no start issue with my 2012 international maxxforce dt, when the fuel pump is on it reads 75psi but when the pump cuts off the fuel returns back to the tank and the pressure drops off to 0, could the spring be the issue?

I have Hard start and tested fuel pressure at inlet by filter housing and had 55 psi with engine running. U think the mechanical pump is going out? Or the fuel pressure regulator? 08 maxforcedt

Just an FYI, these engines also do not like Baldwin fuel filters. They do not seal correctly and will cause low pressure.

Thanks for the heads up. Been suffering with low fuel pressure and a case of baldwin filters. Switching back to navistar will see if that helps with the low pressure stall/engine light.

What program do you use? Is this is fee based program?

Yes it is a yearly fee based program. It’s called NEDs (Navistar Engine Diagnostics). It’s only good for International engines 2007 and up.
