Nice find. Just wanted to share my thought on what I noticed while you were cranking, maybe something to look out for on the next one. The TC1 top outlet pressure was sky high, almost 60psi while cranking which shows an exhaust restriction (stuck closed exhaust brake). The KOEO default value on this engine is 14 psi, but anything higher than that while cranking is too high. Just thought I would share the info with you. I didn't mention the exhaust back pressure was hovering around 43 psi with exhaust brake on. You can see the reading (a couple of lines above ICP pressure on the laptop) when I'm cranking the engine over to check ICP and fuel pressure.

Lol, my yow truck was doing the same thing. Would start then shut down. I changed the IPR valve. And it worked. Then it did it again a couple of days ago. I will check that out next time. Thanks

It's surprising for a exhaust brake to stall the engine. I've seen this happen before but the engine would run normally until you put a load on it.

Love your videos just looking for some help with my 4300 exaust break won’t come on when driving the actual break is free and click when I turn the truck off but won’t do nothing when I drive any help would be appreciated I do have a small crack in the exaust manifold

It looks like a metal line leading to the exhaust brake so maybe hydraulically acuatated?? Thanks again

Same problem we had with one of our body jobs. Truck threw no codes but the issue was intermittent power loss to ECM. Wiring was good, problem was a bad pin on the ECM. New computer and it was good to go

@@angelajenkins7137 it's been a love-hate relationship but likely because of the age of the engine. This one had 14,900 hours on it when it went for a rebuild. International put a new crate engine in and refreshed the electrical system. So far it's been good.

I know this video is 3 years old but you are obviously an international tech so how does the rod move?? Electric power?? Or a vacuum pump accuating the valve? I want to add it to my 2012 maxxforce 11. Also will I have to program the ecu or is it just a switch moving the valve in 3 different exhaust braking settings. Your response and knowledge will help!! Thanks for your time

Air pressure opens the valve. Your 2012 Maxxforce 11 should already have one installed from the factory because one of its main purposes is to assist in raising engine temperatures during aftertreatment regeneration

You need a Nexiq adaptor and 9 pin datalink connector to hook the laptop to the bus.

I have a issue with a 2013 Maxxforce DT with SPN 94 Fuel Delivery pressure below minimum ...have you encounter with this issue I have changed the electric fuel pump and fuel filter still runs a bit crazy .FDP pressure bounces around at 45- 47 I know it has to be around 75 psi

Is the mesh filter on the primary filter OK? There is a pressure regulator at the secondary filter/water seperator set at 90 psi +/- 5 psi. It also has a test port for a manual pressure gauge. There's a test port at the fuel rail as well.

@@MechanicsHubdotCom I just wanted to get back you about the issue, I changed the fuel return port it was found defective the small "O"Ring was deteriorated bad. Change the part now the bus starts up with no issues

I have a max force 13 with regen issues so I checked egr valve not stuck or an active code and egr cooler looked good not clooged or wet,but i did see a oil cover cac so i removed itv hose driver side and it had runny oil...is that normal in these twin turbo?

On the DT there is a conversion kit that stops crankcase gases going back to intake from crankcase breather and instead goes to atmosphere. I'm sure the 13 model would have something similar. This will reduce the oil in to CAC. The Dealer parts dept. should know about this. What kind of regen issues are you having?

Diesellaptops says that this is the last version and isn't other version. Is it the pro version called the same way NED?
