Awesome video! Great idea using the screwdriver to make a path for the tap. I wish I had thought to do that. Them suckers are tight! Instead of using the zip ties I fed the extra cable back into the cover.

great video. i run a V1 in my daily work truck but in the vette i run net radar with al priority laser defense. i was shot with laser this week for the first time and i'm thankful that al priority saved me from a ticket. some windshield mounts can detect laser but it's too late if you over the speed limit. my 02.

TY so much for this video. I just purchased the Max 360c with a similiar mount and power cord. I tried to use a multimeter to figure out which wires did what and the probes were too big for my c7 Z06. Very frustrating not having success and was going to blindly figure out which was the switching wire but already know now. TY again.

Good video. I did this to my Z06 as well. It's clean and works well. The only issue I have is the detector vibrates in the mount and shakes the mirror which bugs me.

If they are the same mirror I don’t see why the mounting breaker wouldn’t work. The wire tap should work as well. Now the colors you tap may be different.

Hi. Little update, I decided to take the mirror wire cover off and it has the samewiring harness but different colors and none of them 12v. So I had to watch another video where the interior lightining cover has to be taken off which is a little harder but doable. Gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on this. I wired my Z06 back in 2016. You have great helpful hints on this install. Wish I had this video when I installed mine. Although It does not shut off with ignition off the unit does auto shut off after a while when it senses the vehicle is not moving. I was wondering if yours does the same. If you go to amazon or google mirror mounts for your brand it will show you the options. It will also show you the wire taps for that product. The power sources will be the same.

I Purchased the same mount and I find it loosening up every three or four days got really frustrated with it and took it down...Even tried putting Loctite on the screws and still had problems with it vibrating lose on a regularly basis… Any suggestions?

🤔 I had this on my Z06 now on the ZR1 and the GS and no issues with it getting loose. There are 6 Allen screws in total. If one is torque down good it can cause it to wobble. The two that are used to tighten around the mirror I have found that if you tighten the one in the right first (looking up at it from below) Then the one on the left and then go back and forth until you can’t tighten it any more it seems to hold tighter.

Of course the part I wanted to see isn't here. Probably common sense. But when wires are attached. Where/how do you route them. My thought is, I'm going to try pushing as much of the added jumpers up into the roof and just have (hopefully) the covered part coming back down and routed to detector? But I haven't seen or heard anyone doing that. I've heard people bending the wires (or jumpers). I'm afraid that'll break them. I'm going to see if I can see someone and how they went up and came back down with the wires. The rest was great as always.

Chuck, I use the wireless battery powered radar detector (wireless) because in some states it’s illegal to have a radar detector and therefore you can remove it and you’re all set. It can be hardwired but it can be moved it to your other Corvette and you can remove it if you were in a state that there are illegal and they were excellent

How is this model about not picking up cars that have radar to let them know to not switc lanes? Do you get a lot of false alarms on this model due to those cars or is it mostly just the police radar that it picks up?

Not allot of false alarms. It will pick up the sensors in cars as a K band but you store it and it leaves you alone.

C6 & C7? This is great, unless you have a C6. These "instructions" are for a C7, not a C6. The mirror designs are different between the generations. Oh, sure, I can figure it out for a C6, but then again this wouldn't be instructions for a C6, would they? The WHOLE NOTION of liberating a wired pin from a connector, and then piggy-backing another wire onto it, and then reinserting the pin into the connector, are in fact generic. The only thing specific is gaining access to the connector and which wires to connect to, and these instructions are for the C7.
