Clicking "Shut down" from the Start menu won't fully shut down if fast startup is enabled, instead you enter a hybrid of "shutdown" and "hibernate".

@@innerdiscarchive I used that laptop because that's the only computer I've got that still has a mechanical hard drive as the boot drive. On computers with SSDs I normally disable the hyberfile, which prevents the fast startup option from showing up. The fast startup option also doesn't show up in VMs (even without VMware Tools).

@@World_of_OSes Fast startup requires hibernation to be enabled. VMware doesn't seem to support hibernation in Windows 10 guests. I tried enabling hibernation and it returns an error saying it's not supported.
