How to disable / get around Paywalls on Websites

Paywalls man, I just wanted a chocolate fudge recipe off some website with a very appetizing picture. I did this, it worked great! They were charging $20USD/Year for a BASIC 4 ingredient recipe. (For anyone wondering) 1. Melt chocolate of your choice and condensed milk in a double boiler 2. Then mix in some salt and vanilla extract 3. Refrigerate at least until hard Basic I know :/

It doesn't work for most websites. When I did it on the one I read. It said "please enable javascript". So basically instead of paywall notification, you still get free part only and are prompted to enable javascript. Any other solution including plugins would be welcome though.

Most nowadays use the "continue reading" button which enables only through JavaScript. So, if you disable Javascript, you'll get rid of the paywall pop up but won't be able to click on continue reading to read the rest of the site.

I tried this on a local P&J article here in Scotland. Got rid of the paywall, only to be met with zero text and a big white blank space on the page where the article should be. I think they're catching on lol

Hey there, this is a solution that might work in relation to purely front-end coded pay-wall (which means to extremely low number of paywalls). I tried it on first few websites that came to my mind and it did not work on any of them. The overwhelming majority of paywalls use a back-end solution that does not care about javascript being on or off.

Great tip, straight and simple. I was trying to access a few sites for study and internship, and every time they were asking me to subscribe, which was very annoying. At the same time, it was restricting me from going through the entire content. A big thanks for the way out.

Theres addons that add a quick right-click to disable javascript button, I use it quite frequently for these exact reasons, and also to bypass those annoying adblock blocker messages. Much quicker than having to dig through the settings every time
