This is by far the most thorough video on cleaning your super 1050. To say thank you for taking the time to share this with us, is an understatement!! The fact that you took the time to share this with everyone is commendable. You are simply the best for doing this because it saves everyone so much time!! Thank you very, very much and may God always bless you for being so kind!! I know how hard and time-consuming it is to create and edit a video the way you've done it. Very much appreciated. This is a must see for every Super 1050 owner!

GunRunner411 - Your my Hero! Thanks for the video. I just bought a used 1050 machine at our Lions Club Gun Show & it did not have the box or manual, so this helped me in setting it up.

I don't really leave comments on KZbin, but I wanted to thank you for taking the time to do this video. This has been such a big help for me. I'm new to reloading and I bought a Dillon 1050 without really understanding how to care for it or even how it really works. Dismantling it, cleaning it, and lubricating it using your video as a guide has helped me tremendously. Thank you again for your hard work.

What a great video illustration of the manual. I purchased the Electronic users guide for the Super 1050, and this blows it away. Your 10 minute video is amazing, straight forward, succinct and very well shot. Showing where to grease & oil. I have put a LOT more thank 10K rounds and have not cleaned and oiled my machine. I am changing over from 9mm to .45, so this will be a great time to do maintenance to my machine. Thank you for taking the time make such an informative video. I hope Dillon hires you make there maintenance videos in the future. THANKS

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to make this video, and let you know that I thought it was very well done. I jut bought a used 1050 that was in rough shape, and your video was very helpful in taking it all the way down to the frame to service it. Thanks again!

Where did you get the specially designed screwdriver? The video says something about an accessory bag but not sure what that is. I bought my press used. Also, your video is great...well made and on point. Thanks for taking the time to do it.

Thanks for your video! I'm having a problem with handle on my Super 1050 not returning to the home position and seems to be grinding or catching on something and is very difficult to return, it takes a lot of effort on the return. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do or try to fix this issue. Thanks

Toolhead should be fully tighten in downstroke position. For change to different primer size, there´s no need to remove toolhead ratched, ratched restriction tab and move primer slide assembly. Primer slide change be removed or changed by simply removing toolhead and slide stop.

Really good question: does disassembling and assembling affect the bullet set and crimp level?

No, the dies are not affected as they remain stationary in the tool head.

Man, I can't wait to start reloading. After the equipment is paid off (how many rounds did it take for you to do that), how much is your cost per round of, say, 9mm (FMJ)? Thanks!
@gunrunner4115
@gunrunner4115 9 жыл бұрын
Reloading will generally save you about 50%. My current cost is 15 cents/rnd ($15/100). At my local gun club they sell reloads for ($30/100). For a $2,500 reloader, that's about 16,667 rounds to break even.

+GunRunner411 Frankly, since I pick up brass at my shooting range; my cost is even lower for 9MM!! It costs me about 11 cents a round. Since you've been so kind to take the time to post this video; get in touch with me and I will tell you where to order your supplies from. I've done hours of research and have found the best places for getting these components, including powder (which is usually the most sought-after and hard-to-find component)!!

I have watched this video over and over and cant for the life of me figure out why there is slop in my 1050 everything works great but at the very top of the handle stoke the shell plate moves an eighth of an inch to far then on the down stoke the alignment pins straighten everything out but the additional movement and slop shouldn't be there i wouldn't think

+Zack Smith I actually figured it out the guy I bought the press from had the spring under the shell plate detent ball upside down so there wasn't enough tension

You're better of reading the manual and not waiting until you have problems to service the press. Dillon "recommends" you don't EXCEED 10,000 rounds. That's not a recommendation to wait 10,000 rounds to perform maintenance and how often maintenance should be done depend on too many factors to be dumb enough to risk trying to "run" 10,000 rounds.
@JeffinTD

DEEREMEYER1 Yeah I think everything had better be perfectly clean to run 10k between services. I oil the main shaft pretty frequently, and do the rest of the machine every time I change caliber. Cleaning the inside of the primer tubes and the bore in the primer slide I’ve found particularly helpful.
