As someone with a temperament for desiring and loving everything, I understand the struggle well... But the reality is that part of discernment is whether you love the actual work itself too. If you find great skill and even passion and love for the outcome that's great! But where true discernment will lie in desire comes with both the work and the outcome. God has made you a certain way from the beginning of your conception, crafting you for a very special purpose. Work is work, but if the work is painful and burdensome, it's likely not for you, your capacities or for what God built you for!

Never heard it put like that. Something like or parallel to Saint Augustine's "Love and do what you will". Excellent. Excellent 👌

I'm not by any means wise, but regarding more general things, it's also quite good to focus on Gods Kingdom as much as you can, and see what stays.

Hey Matt! I would love it if you could collab with the Pastor Mike Winger, kind of like you did with the channel "Capturing Christianity", he did a video on why we wouldn't convert to Catholicism and i couldn't even watch it due to a lot of misinformation on the Church, thank you in advance! It would be an amazing step to walking towards an open conversation of our Faith

I'm really struggling with discernment. I have this feeling that perhaps I am called to the permanent diaconate, but even typing that out I feel uncomfortable. Even though I am strong in my faith and prayer life, I feel like I will be mocked and dismissed if I bring it up to the priest at my church. Any tips for overcoming that feeling? I don't feel worthy or remotely qualified for that vocation yet I can't stop thinking about it.

Is it just me or does Fr Pine’s eyes grow wider every video?

He's probably losing weight due to Lenten fasting. The eyes look bigger when fat is lost in the face.
