Great idea to use the pens! My kids have window pens and I'll use the window pens for the glass as I bet each pane is a slightly different size.

Loving the funky music but I think I need more step by step instructions showing exactly how it's dismantled as I'm new to greenhouses and have no idea how to dismantle one. I'd like to get a free one but I'd be v nervous turning up at someones house and them expecting me to dismantle it and me not knowing what I'm doing 😆

Hi Kate. This was my first ever video and its terrible 🤣🤣 The number thing was a huge help. So I'd number each part then start with the glass. Stack them into sizes. Then it's just a case of dismantling. Roof first then work your way around.

@@TheGreyGardener1990 It's the actual dismantling of the structure that I don't understand and can't find any videos on ie how is the frame held together, some kind of screws? Which tool do you use to undo the fixtures, a screwdriver? Do you need a ladder and how do you take the roof off? I did genuinely like that music though 😂

@@katec9893 it's just tiny little nuts and bolts. So more of a spanner than a screwdriver. Some can be used with a screwdriver it just depends on that particular greenhouse. Pliers can work well as well. The roofs the same. You don't take it off in one go, again so you dismantle it into parts. Google greenhouse nuts and bolts and you'll see what I mean

I've got to clear and level my new allotment plot first but I've been trying to prepare for a greenhouse in case one turns up for free that I need to dismantle. In terms of clearing and levelling, I was going to cover most of the plot with black plastic, leave it for 6 months to kill the weeds, then remove the weeds, rake it and level it. Currently it's a bit uneven with pot holes and a big ditch. Is this what you'd do with a new plot? It's 340m2 and since it's mostly just me I'm not sure I could physically dig over the whole plot, so was thinking black plastic might be better. Once it's cleared my plan is to build raised beds and have woodchip paths.

Thanks for the comments :) so the wood is attached to the breeze blocks with the cement mortar and a couple of nails hammered into the blocks themselves. You will need strong nails but they do hammer through ok. One at each end of the plank should be enough. Screwing nails through the blocks seemed less effective so I went with the nails

@@TheGreyGardener1990 great tips! thank you. i'm about to dismantle & rebuild my first. how has it bared-up in really strong gales/freak winds? 🤓 i was thinking; it might be a good idea to try & bolt the wood to the frame where i am .... Scotland & on windy coast. can i ask: why did you build it on breeze block sides, to give it more height for climbers? that's what i'll mainly be growing in mines 🤓✋💚🌱

Bit confused, the blocks didn’t look levelled before mortar added, over time some will pitch as the ground sinks as not sitting on any concrete basing?

It was a quick job but they haven't moved in 3 years. Granted it could have been done better for sure.

Hi there, yes it probably should be to make it last longer. I forgot to do that here so will have to replace once it starts to rot. Good observation 👍

Hmm I kinda wished I watched this before going to disassemble one I found of Facebook for free. Screws are snapping and some a worn and rusted shut 😭 Do you think I can find replacement screws and bolts easily if I manage to get it all down? I've spent 3 hours on it and all I've done is remove all the glass successfully, and the door and the front of the frame. I will try and move it as four sides and the roof as I don't think it wise to take apart piece by piece 😱

Hi there, yeah I'm pretty sure you will be able to get replacement screws on ebay or something. I know you can definately get the window clips etc. Hope you get sorted, try not to get too stressed! 🙂

I'd say all in all just under 2 hours. Quite quick really and I didn't particularly try to do it fast or anything. The most time consuming were the clips on the panes, so make sure you have some pliers or something pointy to pop them out 👍
