Great video as usual. I have the x5 made in England, x5 gold made in Japan and the x5 (silver like you have) made in Japan. I have found both x5's from Japan have the same resistance, which is more than the x5 made in England. Upon opening and cleaning, I found the Japanese models have slightly longer springs. I don't have the red x5 and was wondering which do feel has the most resistance, the red x5 or the x5 from Japan?

Thanks, that's interesting. I assumed that my original must have lost lots of resistance (and it has lost some) because the Japanese one is much stiffer - equivalent to the red. From what you say, that's the way it's meant to be. I still use my original with a Steel Bow spring for low tension work. The Japanese is the same as the red, so it's kind of spare. No worries though.
