Great video, very informative and to the point. Of course don't forget that this is all assuming that you: 1. Have tanks that can frontline (if you're playing with a flanking Venom or Captain America then there may not be a main source of attention to distract the enemy frontline. Might have to dive with your tank rather than off-angling, but doing both will probably ensue) 2. Have teammates in vc to coordinate cooldowns and focus targets. Ofc you can solo carry as a skilled diver following the checklist in the video but it is so much easier when your team is aware of the cooldowns being commited, the enemy you're diving and being able to ask your tank to push into the enemy team (otherwise a passive playstyle tank may leave too much attention open for the enemy team to turn inward onto the diver) 3. Have a team comp existing in your match. I'm sure you've had those matches where your team silently does their own thing regardless of the objective or team synergy (I'm assuming that its more common in lower elo than higher). Nvm, I shouldn't have posed these as integrals to winning but I'm sure that they increase your chances substantially
@Ekuuu
@Ekuuu 16 күн бұрын
I don't think that these are really necessary at all to have a successful dive or turn the tide in a team fight. Sure, some could be added benefits but nothing that would substantially increase your chances of winning.
@Zaxster_-3-
@Zaxster_-3- 16 күн бұрын
@Ekuuu yeah I realised that after I typed them out, hence me rephrasing the tips to just increasing your chances of winning. I mean many players have that mindset of "getting kills=winning" which is where concepts such as playing the objective, creating space and working around team comps goes out the window in favour of increasing your stats. Won a game last night where the enemy Hawkeye was thrashing us (40+ kills) but we always had at least one person on cart while the others drew enemy fire away from the objective.
@Ekuuu
@Ekuuu 14 күн бұрын
@@Zaxster_-3- Yup..also doesn't help that when people see their kills they think "wow I have 40 kills", yet half of those are usually assists counted as kills lmao. I wish they hadn't added that and made the final hits the kills instead. A lot more egotistical players would be humbled by that alone 💀 Also makes it easier for players to get trapped into that mindset of "Oh but I got X amount of kills and we still lost?". Hell, even I fell for that trap before.
@Zaxster_-3-
@Zaxster_-3- 14 күн бұрын
@@Ekuuu nah that's so real, well said. Ahah I also still have that habit from Overwatch where I'm constantly holding tab and playing a numbers game. But yeah I agree with the final hits instead of assists counting as kills, a star lord for example can just spray a single pellet on the enemy team as they get team wipes from an ult to score 6 kills. I also wish that they let you see healing and dmg numbers of teammates mid-match as it helps to benchmark yourself against a different standard. But then again it does reduce the potential for toxicity since ya can't say heal dif mid match if you don't know how much anyone has actually healed

By the way, most of those concepts apply to any hero, not just dedicated flankers! Its always beneficial to be somewhere where enemy team isnt looking at the moment, allowing you to deal more damage and take less So even if you're playing someone like Mantis, you'll find yourself taking less damage and having more room to breathe if you dont stand in a line behind your tank but rather somewhere to the side

I 100% agree! Oh, but here's something I think would be cool: I hope the game adds a new mechanic where players can pick up an item that grants their characters temporary team-up abilities. Of course, it'll only work for characters who don't have a pair. And to make it balanced, only one character per team can pick it up, and it only lasts until that character dies.

Love this. An actual guide on how to think instead of someone just reading character menu descriptions. Keep this up! also, do you think its best to not do anything (hide) and then dive at the optimal time or apply pressure from a distance to keep uptime and close the distance when the opportunity presents itself (the latter sacrificing the element of surprise for better uptime and ult charge) (the character is psylocke btw)
@karkatsg
@karkatsg 11 күн бұрын
I don't play a lot of Psylocke, so I'd defer any more in depth answer to someone who knows more, but in general I'd say it's much better to take deliberate engages with the element of surprise than trying to apply pressure from a distance, leave that to punisher/namor/hawkeye/etc. That being said, Psylocke is great at being a thorn in their side and applying pressure from an off angle, so you could for sure do a mix of both depending on the game state
