I do grow them in pumice, semi hydroponic. They like it! ❤ thank you for the great video.

Thank you so much for this. I have one that needs to be repotted and i had no idea what substrate(s) to use. This has given me the confidence to experiment.

This was great , very useful. Personally, I don't mind the smell as long as I get blooms! TY.

How long does the moss last before it should be repotted again?
@robertforrest79562 жыл бұрын
IMO alot depends on the quality of the moss, but on an average for me almost 1.5 years, maybe 2... I grow miniature orchids indoors under LED lighting. But each grower has their preference... I always say, Do what works for you the best. Happy Growing... 👍🏻

We find that Stanhopea, especially when in a basket, will simply outgrow the moss with their extensive root system before it really breaks down. In a solid pot, if the roots are healthy, we will simply add more medium around the root ball when repotting. If the roots start to rot, then we know the moss is no good and we will clean out the moss as best we can and refresh. Usually we clean out the old moss when we make divisions as we have to cut the plants in half anyways. Hope this helps!

Maybe it's a point of view. Years ago I've hab a few bulbophyllum species which smelled absolutely amazing, fruity and a little bit of honey
