Hi Vita, I’ve never cut down my day lilies but I’m going to try it this year. You always have such great information and tutorials. Thank you!

Thanks so much! It's hard to give daylilies a hard prune mid-season, but it is worth it in the long-run. 💞🌸

I love them to! They sometimes get a bad rap which is unfortunate. 🌻😊

I have a love hate relationship with these plants…..after they bloom and I cut the stalks off so they won’t seed the plant slowly wants to die back and look horrible. Do you ever cut down and let it refresh? I do this after it starts doing this and it comes back although smaller and I also get smaller blooms again and in full sun, zone 6. I’m constantly dividing them every year because they get so big and I give them to neighbors.❤

Hi Marsha. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, lol, in terms of having a love-hate relationship with daylilies. I am usually very good about deadheading spent blooms, cutting off seedpods, and cutting back spent flower stalks. I usually don't cut back the daylily mid-season, however I will be doing that this year so that the garden looks tidy. I'll be sure to make a video going over all of this as I think it will be helpful for others. 🌻😊
