Thank you so much Vita for all your advice. Looking forward to learning from the rest of your videos. It is great to learn from someone who is in the same zone. I have started from seeds before (many years ago) and had dusting off all my structures and equipment this year. This year I successfully started from seeds 3 types of tomatoes, leeks, alyssum, marigolds and English cucumber. So far everything has done very well after being transplanted outside. After watching your video on seed collecting for begonias, been collecting from my waxed begonias and alyssum. Great tips and going to continue to watch your videos for advice.

I am just about to start watching this..Now I really need help with this, because I have got seeds stored in small plastic bags(doggy bags🤣🤣seeds I have collected while walking my dog),in envelope, wrapped in paper little containers, basically they are stored in what ever I can get my hands on 🤣🤣.. But like you said it's sorting them out to plant, labelling them, there's a lot of reasons to store them & organise them..keeping them moisture free in a dark place, decent temperature.. Thankyou so so much,my seeds are every where.. I really need to start doing this, might start the weekend, wish me luck 🤣🤣

I had to comment again after reading one of your comments, you were replying to someone,Lisa I think.. I find some channels, even though I enjoy them, there garden & technique is way way out of my budget.. Don't get me wrong there gardens, mini farms 😅😅are absolutely stunning..But I can imagine the cost as well even though many of them have money saving suggestions it would still be out of my budget to do.. When I say I do my garden on a budget I really do mean that..All the pots I have got I have collected from people throwing them out..yes I bought a few cheap seeds & cheap soil, but I collect seeds now..I'm making my own compost,my fiance made me a big raised bed from wood we had collected..The main thing I have paid out for is blood fish & bone & chicken pellets.. But now I would like to either make my own rooting hormone or buy a decent one for now as I want to grow root a beautiful red maple tree..I know you can do the cutting different ways air layer graft & that, which I want to learn, but I have got the cutting now,I get to excited😅😅.. I just appreciate you considering people's budgets, thankyou,😍🫶😍🫶

I think Rudbeckia will look terrific in that area of your garden. They certainly pack a colour punch. That speedwell is such a pretty colour, too. Who wouldn't want more of it?

I enjoy your videos and am always impressed by not only your beautiful gardens and your hard work, but also your knowledge. Is there a reason you did not cut back the Veronica after you potted it up? I thought cutting it back would stimulate root growth…

Hi there, thankyou for making an informative video..I love to listen to people that have experimented with growing seeds.. I live in England & most of the seeds we buy don't need to be put in fridge (the stratification bit).. I have planted some seeds, but they are still really small, growing slow lol.. I even tried putting them in the fridge &think I ruined them.. But it's about finding what method is best for you, what works for one might not work for another.. This is the first video I have watched, but you saying lavender been quite hard to grow, have you tried rosemary from seed??..I have managed to grow some from cuttings,it took me long enough though.. Thankyou so so much for sharing such valuable information.. Have a great day 🍄☮️🌺🦋🍄☮️🌺🦋

Love your vids! Have a thought - I've never tried those self composting pots but have seen them around. Maybe planting the seeds in those and then just sticking those in the ground as is? That way no distributing roots? Do those pots actually work though?? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I commented that I divided my 10 year old Dianthus just last week. They are already re-blooming! Two plants (one bright pink one pastel) are now twenty. I did mulch heavily and we're getting rain. I plan to divide next August again. You have taught me so much, Vita. Thank you.

Now that you potted them up, where will they go? In a greenhouse? Under lights indoors? I winter sowed echinacea , coleus, shasta daisies, etc. They were planted in pots or the ground in May. Just curious since you left yours in the jugs until August.

Thanks so much Vita this has been very helpful. I have a new Garden this year in western Colorado and it's doing quite well for the first year but I see these ornamental Alliums you have and that Joe Pye weed and boy I think I need to get some seeds. I look forward to your videos everyday and I am thankful for all the knowledge and experience you have to share. Some things of course I cannot grow in the hot afternoon sun here as we are in high desert Zone 7A . I can grow them though in places that only have Morning Sun so we make it work😊

Iris rhizomes should not have dirt on top. Only the roots get dirt on top. They will grow much faster and healthier that way. I put some on clearance, into pots 5:16 in November and they bloomed the next spring. They hardly had any dirt, but I didn't know where to plant them in the ground originally. I also replanted old growth with roots. Anything with roots I kept. I will know next year how they did.
