Your narrative style and your choice in background music has given me major PBS vibes. Do not fret though. It was not meant as a disparaging comment. Quite the opposite. It’s a compliment of the highest order. I grew up watching PBS and this video was oddly nostalgic.

Finally another guy who doesn't just go buy cans of expanding foam, plaster cloth and spray paint. Why buy what is available free? My advice is don't build on a base so you get a 2 sided obstacle. For surfacing and colour I use diluted white glue, and sifted collected soils and sand from outside. Also a bag of concrete powder. I use washes of acrylic activist paint to colour the surface, soils and saw dust. Very realistic and durable. The secret is variation in the colours. Too many guys just apply one ir two solid colours.

@davideades4839 Hey Thanks for checking out my video. I'd like to try out some other building techniques too. I just used what I had. I didn't want to spend too much on building materials as I already spent all my money on new RC trucks.

I am glad i saw this video before i want out and got Expanding foam and plaster of Paris - i totally did not think about using paper mache - i have worked with it before - Duh..!! so much easier and cheaper. It may take longer to dry - i am in no rush. going to try this this first, with old boxes, plastic bottle.

It takes more work but after its painted it looks so much better then the expanding foam. In my opinion. Thanks for checking out my video.

I think these look better then the ones they sell too, I might have 5 bucks into building these so much more cost effective. Just takes a bit of time.

Hey mate you know its very similiar to do the same for a 3D background for your fishtank! styro foam, aquarium proof seal & paint, looks awesome as a tank back ground!

That is cool, iv seen some cool background builds for aquariums. Unfortunately my aquarium has been on the back burner since spring. Iv been debating on getting rid of it or possibly switching to salt water.

Hotglue will melt the foam. We used pur-foam, it sticks very well and you can make very easly rocks and mountains of that.

You would spend less than you did using recycled materials and dry materials you collect from outside. You do buy glue and paint, cheap in quantity, but the free dry materials on their own can provide most of the colour as well as traction.
