Cold patch asphalt is very expensive and inferior. Hot mix asphalt in comparison is much cheaper and better in all ways. Most asphalt plants will load a trailer (dump) with amount needed for fix- fyi- asphalt guy. Ps do not seal new asphalt with water based or (acrylic) within 1 yr of layment of new patch or asphalt. Asphalt Oil based sealants are always recommended for all asphalt driveways and repairs because it is a penetrating sealant rather than a surface sealant (like water born sealants) and can be applied immediately or yrs after.

By the time you paid for everything and rental. You could have had a whole new driveway done. F#$@ that.

@@DIYable I used that cold patch shit a couple months ago. That shit can be shoveled up off the driveway right now. I'm not doing it right now. Cause I gotta find me a real fix for when I shovel it off.
@DIYable4 жыл бұрын
@@2ndshiftaudio300 If you don't want to do the rental and use hand tamper, there maybe a possible solution if the area you are trying to fix isn't that big. I personally have not used this product, but I heard it's pretty amazing. It's damn expensive though, so it will only be good for a small area fix. It will harden like a rock after adding water. www.homedepot.ca/product/aquaphalt-6-0-medium-23-kg-permanent-asphalt-repair-patch/1001235327

My wife said I am too slow on these DIY projects LOL.. You need to wait for the cold patch to dry, it takes months technically speaking. There is a new product called "Aquaphalt", you add water and it harden right away.. But I cannot find them locally and they are expensive.

@@Zharsergey YES!!! I saw it on the flyer. Believe it or not, a year ago I contacted Home Depot Canada to suggest Aquaphalt to them, I wasn't sure if that was me or not. This year they start carrying that. I will try it probably next year, I am too busy on the backyard project this year.
