Cute, updated version! Using a marcel iron was challenging for me to learn, but now I love it! Nowadays, people are so busy that roller sets take too much time. This process offers an alternative to that sitting under the dryer version. (My aunt used orange juice cans with huge bobby-pins!) I did this to my hair with pin curls. Love vintage hairstyles!

I would call this a modern version of the 60s flip, very nice! But without the set rollers it's not authentic.

The whole look is different. You cant get the same look from an iron. It wont hold the same as a wet set.

When I was kid in 1960's sisters always did the bubble style hair do way up to 90's. We moved to a different town and I went to tick or treat with my younger sister and went a house this woman had two daughter , they both these styles of hair do's. This was around 1962. I was like 9 years old. I think they were cute hairdo's. 😁

A curling iron will never truly recreate a 60s hairstyle. You need a wet set to set in the shape. I understand women don't want to sit there while you put in the curlers and have to sit under the dryer, etc. But if you're not doing a wet set you will never have the same results. As soon as I saw the finished result I knew it didn't look right.

Let’s be clear-styling with a blow dryer and curling iron is not quicker than a roller set. Someone who is skilled at doing roller set can have the hair rolled and dried in about the same time as a blowout.
