@@maleriemarinello2331 details? I had an issue with my first soap. 1. I believed someone who said you dont need a stick blender. After 3 hours of mixing, I decided, yeah, you really do. I think I hit a false trace. 2. My castor oil disappeared, as in just gone. So I'm on soap calc trying to modify my recipie AFTER I had oils and lye mixed. 3. I woke up to honey oatmeal soup. So I rewatched (AKA threw it in a pot, in the oven for two hours) basically hot processed it. Which was another learning experience. And because I had put a layer of oatmeal on top, I ended up with a lot of oatmeal in my mix. Basically the soap looked like oatmeal cookies. But hey, they're just curing to harden up now.

Well, I have general anxiety disorder, and I've dropped a lot of hobbies because I feel like I'm not good enough to continue trying, but your outlook assured me enough to not only try in the first place, but also to just come up with plans b, c, and d, just in case I blend past light trace, or a color doesn't turn out, or a scent accelerates more than I expect. You are incredible. Please keep doing what you're doing, because you are inspirational and you brighten the lives of everyone that watches your videos.

This is starting to get exciting ... well, more exciting. I've started collecting supplies and equipment. It'll be a little while before I'm ready to try making my first batch, but I can't stop watching the videos. They're addicting. I almost gave soap making a try back in 2016. I wish this series was available back then. I have a fondness for color, especially deep rich Earth tones. I'm really attracted to the multitude of colorful pattern possibilities with soap making. I was momentarily concerned when the previous video started talking about the pink layer. I'm not a fan of pink, but I found the color of the finished soap to be more towards the agreeable end of the pink range. I'll probably leave the TD out of that batch to darken up the colors a bit. I'm anxious to get the first two batches under my belt and try the drop swirl technique in this video.

The yogurt or milk question is easy to answer. For milk, use the amount of milk the recipe specifies for water. Just swap the same amount out, but freeze it first or the lye will scorch it. For yogurt you can add it to your oils before you add thd lye so you really mix it in. I wouldn't use very much though because the sugar in it will cause it to heat up and thicken faster. Use it like she uses thr honey in her honeycomb soap from earlier this year.

I think she only does vegan soaps. I've been trying to find a basic straight up milk, lard, soap.

@@meloniebush9240 the articles I've read say milk must be frozen to avoid scorching.

Ive been watching you for about 8 years now and your artistic talent is amazing (I'm a painter) but it's your positive attitude and sense of humor that keeps me watching, as well. I would love to see a review video of your top fragrance oils for beginners from Nature's Garden and Bramble Berry.
