Thank you for this set of videos on hamon. I find that American videos on cutlery are much more in-depth than those made in Europe and more precisely in France. I've already watched lots of videos on hamon and I'm still learning I am from Belgium. I subscribe 😉

What oil do you use in the end to darken the hamon? And u say that you wax it to? With car paint wax or is there a special wax for bare metal. Thanks

It isn’t oil that darkens the blade. It is a chemical called ferric chloride. I make sure the blade is throughly cleaned and dip it into a 4 to 1 water to ferric mix for about 60 sec.
