Instead of counter steering right away...steer into the opposite direction and mash the gas. You really don’t need to dump the clutch. Turn the wheel to 1 side..hit the gas and just get used to it then at that point start to add your counter steering But whatever you don’t don’t teach ppl how to do it wrong.

You can stay in first the whole doughnut but when you’re done if you’re gonna drove off shift out but if you’re going to stop then neutral is. You can do a doughnut in 2nd gear to get more power to your tires and they’ll spin more and depending on your tires and how fast their spinning you can smoke your area out
