I do nails, and as for as application of acrylic and polishing she did an awesome job. Her level of skill is that of a master technician who has been doing nails for 10+ years. That is nail glue on her hand that she accidently spilled. Everyone saying how she forgot this or that doesn't know what they're talking about. She prepped before the video started to show you the acrylic part as fast as possible. Stop hopping on a bandwagon saying there are mistakes.

There are in fact multiple mistakes and a trained professional would know that. Unless of course they are also making the same mistakes and therefore they are only agreeing so that it seems like an acceptable way. And before it's said I am not referring to her using the one ball method as that is an acceptable way to apply acrylic, the rest of it is the problem.
@juratchet8 жыл бұрын
Don't want to throw race into this but I have noticed that Asian nail techs do things in a quicker more efficient way to maximize how many people we do and not have them sitting in our chair for hours. Clients get tired of being there for long periods of time too. The times that I've worked with/ observed how American techs do nails I was wondering how they make any money. Their clients are there for hours sometimes since they want to do everything by the book. I've made chump change working for Americans vs working for Asians. Just some food for thought.
@CatNapORnappy1468 жыл бұрын
+Kent Pra there is nothing wrong with being fast the problem is that they were done in a way that could put the client at risk. Being sanitary and safe doesn't require extra time from the client, it requires more of the technician unfortunately some do not feel like it is worth the effort and that is the problem. Money should never make someone put others health at risk.

I think she did a fabulous job. I would love to be able to do my nails in seven minutes instead of the length of time that it takes me. And the one ball...would love to be able to get that done. Takes a lot of practice to do what she did in the amount of time that she did it. Great job they look fabulous.

I am in disbelief at the comments below... no where on here a states that you have to follow what the person in the video is doing. . If you don't like it don't watch it... wow.. who knows how long this person has been doing nails and found a way to make it easier for them one ball method is the easy way for them... and I have seen other videos and they do use primer.. I am just shocked that people would be so negative... you guys obviously need help with acrylic application otherwise you would not have searched tutorials on acrylic application ; ) keep posting videos I like watching them.

You can clearly tell the nails were prepped before she started the video. They are buffed and the cuticles clean. She took care of everything before tape started. And i have NEVER had anyone wear gloves when doing my nails so what the hell are you people talking about ? And as a military wife i spent time getting my nails done in several different states at many different salons. No gloves. She is really really good and a lot of folks are obviously jealous. Just because you can't do this as good as her is no reason to bash her. Spilt glue on her hands isn't a reason to hate on her either. It's obviously glue. Not filth. Jealous people suck.

Yes! I totally agree! I can't believe the people on the Internet. Her skin is from a glue accident, making them extremely dry. And everyone get cuts once in a while!!

Not only is this poor girl's skin dry but the glue is still on her. She probably hasn't had 2 seconds to peel it off. Doing acrylic nails is a huge learning curve in the business and to see her doing those ratios like a ninja is inspiring!

Any decent/great nail tech knows that quality wins EVERY time over time and our clients are never going to be return clientele if our nails don't last the distance because they have been rushed and a perfect job has not been done and it is because I pride myself in quality not quantity as to why I have the great career I have. I hope that where ever you are in your nail career that you are successful in every way:)

i think he/she did a great job. so what their hands have glue on them? That doesn't mean they weren't washed. To me, it means they cared enough about the quality of the work they sacrificed their hands... glue doesn't come off with soap any water. Why would a nail tech wear gloves? I feel it would make the work sloppy. The Acrylic application was about 7 min. Then oil and polish was applied. Yes, its good to use primer, but it isn't always necessary, honestly. I think you did a great job and the one ball method looks amazing!
@Iama1asupernova5 жыл бұрын
They are called chop shops. I’ve been doing nails 25 years and I’m still under the work ethic mindset that for me, I could do a full set of nails in a short period of time, but are they going to be total quality, are they going to be my best work… No. I prefer, to take my time within reason to do the best job that I can do and that includes from prepping the nail and educating the client while I’m doing the NAILS to the last step of the design or polish and continuing education during the session. I think this goes for anything that we do in life. I feel like my best quality of work is when I take my time and I am focused. If I’m being rushed because other people feel like, “oh my gosh, I Need to get in and out. I got to go over to the chop shop so they’ll get me in and out in 35-40 minutes”… OK, now you have lifting nails, you have cracked nails, you have yellow nails, you have chipped polish & your topcoat is DULL AF! Hell no. I tell people that I book clients A certain timeframe for different services, so for a full set of acrylic, it might be an hour and a half to two hours depending. It might be an hour… I don’t know, but for me, I’m not to be rushed. I want the client to have quality service. I need to make sure that they understand this is the time you’re going to be here, approximately. When people walk into the chop shops, “you can sit down pick your polish”. They don’t care about the health of your nails. They just care about getting you in and out and making that paper. I’m not about that. I myself, don’t really care how much time people take to do things for me that I need done, like fixing my car, doing my nails, my hair, painting my house… anything, because I want them to do quality work. I don’t want him rushing and I tell them that you don’t have to rush my oil change, because you might accidentally leave the cap to my oil spout off or forget to. rotate my tires, which comes with oil changes free. So take your time. I think clients appreciate that because I tell people upfront, “this is not going to be an in and out service. I take my time” I make sure that my clients are satisfied and that the client is looking at the NAILS throughout the process: the way THEY have to look at them every day, not me.

For those of you who are bitching about the nail tech not wearing gloves; gloves are not to keep you safe, they are only to keep the wearer safe. Gloves are not sterile, so customers are not going to be any safer from anything if the tech is wearing them. Even in hospitals, gloves are worn to protect the doctors, not the patients. She did prep the nails, you can clearly see that before she starts applying the acrylic. Educate yourself before bitching about everything.

hygienic issues asside (and clearly there was no regard for hygiene at all) the ball application was ingenious! i've never seen an application technique like that before. two thumbs up for that! that being said, and we'll still not talk about the hygiene issues at hand (pun intended), since the technician saved so much time on applying the acrylic, perhaps more time could have been used in applying the nail polish. the cuticles were almost painted on a few of the fingers. a simple clean up around the nails, both before and after the polish application, would have done wonders for the final result.

when the video started it looked like the nails had just had a set removed. presumably the nails have been buffed, prepped and cuticles pushed back before the video started... makes it a cheat about the whole '7 minutes thing' though since they didn't start with nails in a natural state
