Fading Steps
- Set in guideline with 0 lever closed
- lever open set in next guideline
- 1 guard lever open next guideline
- 1.5, 2 , guard blend up
- Clipper over comb
- Blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
- Continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard 3qtr
- Blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
- Open lever half way, continue blending
- Continue blending with lever open
- Do any touch up work
- Use trimmers to take out bottom hair
- Use electric shaver
- Do any line up with trimmers
- Shave with straight razor

Could you do taper with long hair, I’m having difficulty with that and I really find it hard to know when to stop going up

My best advice is always start lower then what you think, remember you can always go higher but never lower once you start. I also found it easier but a little more annoying to actually blend the guidlines before moving up to create next guideline then when im done i go over dark spots and details. Use what works best for you but that way helped notice the lines and keep me from going higher. Good luck bro 🔥💪

I have a question! Do your clippers have to be zero gapped in order to get those results? Mine are stock that’s why I’m asking, and if not.. does having your clippers zero gapped just make barbers lives easier in their field of work? What’s the thought process on zero gapping? Depends. If you're doing alot of skin fades you definitely should Gap your clippers. If all you're doing in 1fades and up no need. Id suggest having a regular Fade blade clipper not gapped for regular fades and a taper blade ZERO gapped for skin fades/tapers.

Can someone explain why I asked my barber for a mid fade and he left the sideburns and only faded the back? Is it cuz I asked for number 1 on the sides? He recommended me getting a skin fade but I said I wanted a 1.

Yeah I mean you gotta be a little more specific. When you say you want a mid fade with a 1 do you mean you want no bald taper on it? Or do you just want the 1 on the sides and just edge up all the edges? It’s best you just show a pic of what exactly you are looking for
