Thank you so much for posting this video. I’ve been cutting my own hair for the last year and I would always tweak here and there without 100% knowing. Your way to fade with half open, full open and full close made it work perfectly. My haircut turned out like I went to the barber. Thanks again my friend.

@@DavidEscamilla153I know it might sound basic but I think a video on just basic edge ups and clean ups could be useful..cuz I find that some clients don't want much done, like they just want an edge up, but I feel like I'm doing incomplete work u know? So how can I do the edge up and still bring the natural hairs style together to make it look complete bro?

not saying it wrong or right but from the time you put your first guide line in i would have started with my biggest guard needed and worked my way down. so in essence i would have cut the top of the fade first and as i got lower in the blend tightened my guards and lever down from there. so at the bottom of the blend i would have had the clipper at its lowest point on the lever.

There’s so many ways to do a fade bro. I agree, we could start from top to bottom or vice versa 💪🙏
@MOONFACEFLOW Жыл бұрын
@@DavidEscamilla153yea fading up or fading down is just a matter of preference, if you following your steps and making the end result the same, how u get there is just essentially what YOU are comfortable with
@dirtyreg22 Жыл бұрын
fading up like you do is creating lines. nothing wrong with that cause sometimes that is needed. i tend to use way too big guards and blade in every section to begin with it. it doesnt create the lines and as i work further down the head i tightened the lever. in the barber world we call it fading up vs fading down. im more of a fade down guy

What are your steps to fade down?
@dirtyreg22 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanrudolph5985 if doing a bald fade I like to work the upper part of the fade area first all the way around the head. Maybe 000 guard open then middle part of fade area 000 closed but of course don't go high up on the head as the 000 open was. Then lastly bottom of the fade area no guard clipper open to halfway as needed. Then spot work no guard closed bit stay really low on the head and work corners of blade. This is the best I can explain this technique. Don't get me wrong I'm learning that fading up and putting guidelines In the hair does have its place too sometimes

I stopped using the one open and after no guard clipper open I make one more guideline with the 1 1/2 guard closed and take that out by flicking out and lever play with the 0 or 1/16 guard

Idk for me the initial skin line is too low to be a high fade. That skin line is more like a mid drop almost. If i did this my clients would immediately ask me to do it higher. This is more of a stretched out mid drop to me.
@eeiko321 Жыл бұрын
Man, I’m assuming that’s a difficult head shape to do it on? There’s literally no presence of the occipital bone-contour whatsoever…. But turned out ok
@Mike-hy8cs Жыл бұрын
@eeiko321 Yeah there are some hair types where i would start my high fade a tad lower only because its a difficult canvas but not that much lower. He basically skinned it midway with a drop in the back and just stretched the blend out a lot so it looks like a mid high fade. I live in texas and i used to live in miami as well and in both those areas if someone asks for a high fade and you start it that low they will either stop you right away and ask you to do it higher or they will wait midway through the cut to tell you to go higher lol.
@crain03able Жыл бұрын
He said it’s a mid to high fade
@Mike-hy8cs Жыл бұрын
@crain03able Its still too low to be a mid high fade. Mid high fade you would start around the temple removing the hooks from the fade entirely. This is a mid fade lol the only reason it looks high is cause he made his guidelines big to stretch the blend out a good amount
