The stove you did this test on does not appear to have it's own regulator, so your statement of looking for 11"WC is correct. If it had it's own regulator you would need to check the name plate data for what it's working LP pressure is, most likely 10" WC.(so you would not see 11"WC) That's one reason for going with time test using 8" WC.(getting pressure below the second regulator in the LP circuit.)

Wrong. There is a regulator and you will see atleast 11 most likely around 13”. The reason why you drop it down to 8” is to open all the regulators on the appliances.

So Radman can you explain how I would see 11-13 wc if the stove (as I was referring to) has it's own regulator spec being 10" wc. The regulator back at the tanks should be set to 11wc.

Excellent video! Very clear instructions and process for diagnosing a possible propane leak with a manometer (doo-doo-doo-doo). Going to share this video with others and as a certified tech I appreciate your willingness to help customers understand their rig and its systems. Well done!

Do you have a link to the manometer that you are using?

why not do the pressure drop test just below the regulator that way you can correct the regulator pressure with the screw and check the pressure?

You can also do that if you need to do troubleshooting. The stove already has any easy access point which is why we tend to start there.

You missed an important step. How do you know that gas valve on the stove that you are using for your test isn’t leaking by? Since your meter is hooked up. When your test is over close the valve you are using for your test. Open and BURN off the propane in the system using another burner. System pressure should be zero and your manometer should hold pressure. You are now testing the valve for leak by.

Okay….so say your reading is 1…not 11 what do you do next? I’ve replaced the regulator, followed the lines there are no leaks or clogs. I don’t know…
