Usually a bad thermocouples for the oven. If it keeps going out I would replace it for safety. If the thermocouples is not working right it shuts the gas off on the appliances. At least that's what it is supposed to do. I remember as a teenager living in a mobile home. My sister thought she had lit the oven. How ever she did light the pilot light but the thermocouples failed to shut of the gas. And next thing we knew is the over door was blown off. Needless to say it work dad up and scared the crap out of my sister. After that she told dad he could make his own toast. Also you can by a gas dector or snooper for about $59.00. I have one in my tool box. Comes in handy for those tight spaces where I can't get the soap spray. Safe travels Brian and Cindy "xtreambydesign with passion"

I was told years ago that if you want to live full time in an RV, learn what to fix and how to repair most if not all the systems, it makes $$$ n cents...or saves lots of money in the long run. We have lived in a travel trailer while we built our house in AZ years ago, yes, learned a lot then too. But I am a doer also, the homes that we have had throughout our lifetime all have had their issues. When it comes to repairs, modifications, restorations, I am a little slow getting started, but as long as the wallet does not loose any weight, I get the job done on a reasonable time schedule, and I am impressed as well as others that stop by. Thank you again for the invite, you do make it look easy...though sometimes it is not.

when you mentioned holding the oven knob in for 5 seconds at 10:47 something I noticed in my RV oven I troubleshooter was when you hold the knob of the oven in, to light the pilot light, it's actually warming up the thermal coupler telling the system "hey the pilot light is on we can keep feeding gas".

On your oven. There is generally 2 safety systems. One being for the pilot light, the other for the actual burner. Generally its a probe that is in the flame. If it goes bad it will think there is no flame and shut it all down. Hope this helps. I couldn't see your burner to well

OPD is Overfill Protection Device its a float that shuts off at 80 percent thats the legal limit to fill a tank to allow for expansion yes propane is a liquid under pressure it does not control flow. The regulator controls the flow or pressure that is allowed out. You can get air locked in the tip that will block the flow usually happens when filling or the opd can get stuck a gentle drop will fix it. The design of the tip limits the pressure they are designed to keep liquid from passing that would cause a huge explosion something like a fork lift has liquid withdrawal what we have in rv is vapor hope that helps

WOW!!! Coincidence? I think not. Our RV has been in our driveway for the last 2 months, when the previous owner delivered it to us. Been spending the time getting familiar with everything and making my own little modifications. Just yesterday I watched videos on utube to learn about the propane system, mainly the stove and fridge. This video was times perfectly, thank you Chad for reading my mind. Or Tara for bugging him to make the repair, whichever. Question: I bought the same gas level monitor and the directions tell me to place the monitor on the bottom of the tank. That's what I did, and the readings aren't accurate AT ALL. It's the two tank monitor just like yours. I'm gonna attach it to the side like you did and see what happens. Awesome video. Sorry for the long comment.
@ChangingLanes3 жыл бұрын
Ours is on the bottom too. The image in the video was from under the RV. That's where it's supposed to go. I would contact them and let them know. Also, be sure to calibrate it for your sized tanks. I forget how this is done.

When I was a kid we used boiling water. Pour it down the tank. Then run your hand from bottom up. Feel where it warms up that's the level. Its too dry here in the desert to get frost lines so feeling cool metal where propane is to warmer where propane isn't works well.

It’s best to adjust the spark electrode when it’s red hot (can snap if you adjust it cold) As for the oven looks like you have an electronic safety device sometimes they just want a clean eg fine wire wool As for the adjustable regulator just be careful on your grill it doesn’t start to crack the burners and have flame lift with too much pressure 👍

Yes, the spark electrode can definitely break it you adjust it cold. Ask me how I know. 😢

The 20 PSI regulator I got from your link worked for about 15 minutes before it too, died. I ordered another from Amazon but the only one they had with the proper length hose is a 30 PSI (!) unit with a gauge on it. Needless to say all you need to do is crack open the regulator for a ton of gas to flow. Per it's gauge best operation is at 5-7 PSI.

RE: Oven woes If you don't light the pilot light, you can still light the oven burner; when oven is up to temp, the burner shuts off but can't re-start without the pilot light being lit. I think there's also an automatic valve that shuts gas flow if the pilot light isn't on - not sure about this one. We had this exact issue when the wife lit the burner only yesterday and the oven shut itself off.

I am not a full timer but I just had to jump in. I Am retired HVAC business owner so I ve run into this many times. First thing to look for is what is sensing the presence of flame? If a. Thermocouple, then it must be in the flame enough to put out sufficient current to keep gas solenoid energized. AND connection must be good for solenoid to stay open, Very small current can get lost in bad connection..If there is flame sense rod, flame rectification is happening, also small current, about 2 to 3 micro amps..often due to oxygen and heat being present, an oxide will form on the rod which is resistive, which can have big impact on a small current through the rod so the control board doesn't sense the flame current.... keep up good work Tara. You to Chad

Had similar issue with the stove in our 2020 solitude. Reached out to Furrion and was told the stove needed to be replaced. According to Furrion there are no replaceable parts on this model stove.
