I've been working with this type of binding this week and I found that when I'm using envelopes and you fold the 2 together it creates for a nice thicker strip of material in the tabs... You could do it with folded pages as well but it just really gives it a nice full effect of the fabric I just used 2 envelopes and put one into the other so it has a nice fold and use about 6 of those and then do the tab binding and it is so luscious....❣

Thank you! This is perfect for a journal that I have been working on sporadically for a couple of years. It has large individual pages. I knew that there would be some way to bind them together but this is the perfect way!! Your instructions are very very good! This could be confusing but your instructions are so clear! I love it! This is fantastic. I love the way it lays flat to work on. I also watched your envelope one which brought me here. I'm excited to make my granddaughters their own journals handmade by gramma. Dina Wakley makes a neutral color linen tape that is stickey on the back. Amazon sells it and then Tim Holtz has the fabric linen tape. I just found this kind of journal and I love it. I love it lays flat so writing is easy in it for people who love to journal. I am so glad you shared it.

You can add a paperbag in the journal which I think is nice. There is a lady on KZbin Bookshop Shelli and she has a video on no sew binding and she shows how to add it when the journal is finished. I thought it was a cool idea.

You could use double sided tape on your fabric strips and make your own fabric tape

I have watched this twice and I still haven't gotten the hang of it.😞 But I'll keep trying because I like the idea of being able to use full sheets of paper with different sizes of papers. Maybe if I had the fabric tape it would be easier?

Hi Penny, I'm sorry to hear you are having difficulties. Yes the tap might help since you won't have to worry about too much glue and waiting for it to dey. It could be a solution.
