Very easy to do and in some cases if you miss your connecting flight normally the origin airport such as JFK or EWR actually issue you a new bording pass for connecting flight to mnl or ceb

i'm glad i choosed Cathay with a stopover at HKG after seeing this video. I also heard good stories about Singapore, but this looks easy and fast as i only have 1 and a half hour to spend on this airport. Enough time for stretch my legs after an 11 hour flight before the 2nd leg of the journey starts and it wont add up too much time in the total time of travelling.

Thank you for this video. I’m flying into Hong Kong and catching a connecting flight to Bangkok this August but only have about an hour between flights. HK looks very efficient and I should have plenty of time in between flights. I was kinder worried about that.

Transfering in HK this June for the first time I normally go via Dudai. Was just worried that my transfer time is only 1h50m but as I'm flying CX the hold way this video makes me a little less worried. Thank.

That's good. The crew holds out the flight card for the immediate transfers. If you have enough time for the connecting flight, you might take a shower for free. After an overnight flight, the shower was nice.

HK Airport is good but they're a bit too strict when it comes to liquid or any gel in your hand carry. I have to trash 4 large chocolate in the trash just becoz of it. Also, beware if you're travelling with a baby. Even their milk powder has to be checked and is regulated.

I had a connecting flight to JFK from HK Airport at 9am with 2-hour layover and I'll tell you there was no staff available to guide or give directions at all. There were janitors who were least interested in helping or did not speak English at all. We had to figure out ourself that to reach the boarding gates we have to take a train to E2. The attendant at the train, when asked about E1 or E2, said both! Now going back we have 1hr10min layover, so we are better prepared. I give three thumbs down to HK airport for lack of support and improper signages for transfers.

Man, I cannot agree more! This video is useless. I have never seen an airport with transfer desks before. Why not have gates and terminals like the rest of the world? There are no signs, and nobody can tell where to go. HKG is not good for transfers.

I am going to hong kong by CX then from Hong Kong to Manchester..So just follow the transfer sign...Go to security and to boarding gate.. Am i correct?

Got no clue why they send transit passengers through screening again. They're supposed to pass it in origin. I found that in Doha too, but did transit in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Copenhague and Toronto without further annoying security checks...

Oriol Munuera i Roqué usually depends on the design. If the arrival is at the same floor as the departure then there’s no security (like US domestic connection)

I have booked a flight from auckland to delhi via hongkong, my layover in hong kong is for 4 hours, this flight has been booked by jet airways, but auckland to hongkong operated by honkong airlines, and hongkong to delhi operated by jet airways it self. now i have few confusions.. 1) will i need any pre arrival visa for hongkong? 2 ) will my baggage go auckland to delhi directly, or i have to check in again in hongkong? please answer its urgent, thanks

Rzekspir if you fly with CX all the way to Cambodia, you should be able to pickup your boarding passes at the airport. And ideally the staff will be waiting you outside of the gate when you landed at HKG

Can you check a suitcase at the transfer desk in HKG? Or are you required to go to T2 in order to check? I am flying United from San Francisco to Hong Kong with my suitcase as carry-on. I need to catch an AirAsia flight to Phuket and have only 1.5 hours connection time. I am told I would have to go all the way to T2, check the suitcase, then go back to T1 where the gates are. I already have a boarding pass for the AirAsia flight to Phuket.

Marco Poloan generally no but u should go to ur airlines counter first and in my experiences they’ll send the request and someone will do that for u

Liza Lim for the luggage it depends on your airlines (if it’s the same airlines or same alliance or not), but you’ll go thru the security after you went to the transfer desk or if you have the onward flights boarding pass already, you’ll go straight to the security

Liza Lim if the site says you need to then it’s likely that you have to go thru immigration and then go to departure level and check in and security again. But double check when you’re checking in at your origin

I think you can ask the agents at Mumbai do tag your luggage directly to SIN then you don't have to pick it up at HKG. You don't beed to go thru immigration but need to go thru security check.
