You can also put a regular fuel filter in line of the pump if you do make sure it is fairly level. Helps with the initial fuel fill up of that inline filter. That helps with that fuel screen not plugging up from water born contaminates.

I heard with these heaters it’s best to run it on full blast for 15 minutes before turning it off to burn off any soot. Also it’s good to turn it on only for extended periods of time. If you’re turning it on for just a few minutes at a time it can damage from extra heat cycles.
@DIYSEMI4 жыл бұрын
yep, thats called short cycling...causes build up in the unit
@markm00004 жыл бұрын
@@DIYSEMI I heard that on a trucker forum a while back. I just ordered one for my current truck and it should be here to install next weekend. It’s been getting harder to sleep in the cold without one. As for the heat, I don’t think I’m going to buy a APU in the summer. I have an idea to put a oversized alternator on my Reefer unit and run a small window AC out the back of the sleeper. That can also charge my batteries so I can run a inverter while parked. I never set my unit on cycle while I sleep so it’s a perfect combo. Saves weight and one less thing to worry about. Let me know if it’s a bad idea. Thanks for the videos

Hey man, you ever have an issue with your bunk heater blowing warm air, but not hot? I went outside, tapped on the fuel pump, it's ticking and seems to be working. It's almost like the fuel isn't being fully ignited. Little bit of blue smoke out the exhaust. any thoughts? I'm running a space heater in the meantime :/ I ordered another fuel pump just in case, and I guess it's good to have a spare on hand anyway. It's an Espar D2L. Had the heater shut off on it's own a whole bunch of times too. It's like the fan kicks into over drive and than turns off. could it be the glow plug?
@DIYSEMI Жыл бұрын
It is probably the vent hole is plugged limiting air flow
@sages101 Жыл бұрын
@@DIYSEMI hey I figured it out. it was actually a piece of crud that was stuck in the fuel filter, restricting the flow of diesel. No idea how that got in there, it was actually pretty big. 🤷🏻♂
