Warm engine before draining oil, always lube the oil filter seal before fitting, ideally oil level should be at max (when hot) there is no valid reason for it not to be.

Yeah labor in bmw dealership here is ridiculously expensive

@@TrackOurJourney Yes, too much. Going for my 6k oil change tmrw, somehow turns into 482$! Talaga! And I see them regularly when I carry in bikes for them (flatbed). Walang deals talaga dyan. Yeah madali lang ung oil change. And honestly its not a big deal to not reset your service log on the bike. If you really want to you cam purchase your own gs911 tool or something similar to reset it yourself. Otherwise just leave it be and mark it in your personal bike log book. If you bring it to the dealership just to reset the service ticker it's $40 iirc!!! Tinataga talaga.

What about the warranty? I am asking because you are doing it by yourself and not by the authorized dealer.

Alin D. The Magnuson - Moss Warranty Act of 1975 and the Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act of 2012 both say otherwise. Doing your own oil change does not void the warranty as long as you can speak to it being done properly with the appropriate parts and fluids.
