I have watched over 100 hours of autobody painting videos on KZbin and your one video was more informative and comprehensive than all of them combined. Thank You, very much appreciated.

I will say I’ve done some small basic body work and paint over the years and I am about to tackle a complete paint job on my 07 black Silverado that was my grandpas that I am lucky enough to now own. I have watched your videos on rocker panel replacement and rust repair and now this video. It has helped me learn A LOT leading up to preparing for this job. Well done sir

After working in a shop for 9 years, working in the shop and office I love watching. Sadly I had to let the job go and now work from home, but need to keep playing the noises for the body shop, the sanding, the spraying and grinding just to concentrate Great video, perfectly demonstrated, great camera position as well, and very clear to hear and understand!

Thank you for putting this up. I am just getting into this at 40, although I have a lot of mechanical talent and engine work under my belt, I always avoided this.

For years I thought Clear coating was complicated and I would never be able to do it so it looked good enough to take out into the public... But after doing some body repairs on my old VWs (Old as in 2000 to 2005 ) I wanted to try and match the best I could to the rest of the paint on the car/s which had decent paint and clear from the factory still where there was no rust . Which means Clear coating over the base coat. So I watched videos and read some forums etc etc. I love spraying the Clear now lol. Biggest issue I have is trying to get a base coat match that doesn't look like crap. I blended a few areas with not bad results but trying to get the base paint has been a problem since I dont own a autobody shop. Anyways your videos are pretty good, you should have more Viewers!

Been doing bodywork for over 20 years, it's been body filler straight to metal how i was taught and have been doing it. I think the prime before body work is just another her sales tactic towards the new bodymen. Have also painted over prepped 2k high build, and now all i hear is you have to seal it🤦 never had an issue over the past 20 years, and now with all these procedures have seen more issues with paint jobs honestly. Just my opinion 🤔🤷. Anyways i do enjoy the videos great stuff👍

I’m all for learning new techniques, but not when it adds more time and expense for something unnecessary!

I don’t remember the dimensions, but I can fit a crew cab, but would have to paint the tailgate separate…. If I did it again I’d make it a little bigger, but I’ve always managed 👍🏼

Can you tell me can I change my cab and a half 8ft box to a 6ft box by changing the frame and be legal

How tall is the doors to your paint Booth

About 7’. If I did it again I’d go higher. Lifted trucks often don’t fit without airing down the tires

I know body guys do things differently but, I never see you use a guide coat, how do you not miss scratches in your paint? not hating just curious, Thanks
@Johnnymidnight4 ай бұрын
I’ve never really used it, on bigger jobs I usually just add some black to the last coat
