Liat, I love your videos!! You taught me how to knit 3-1/2 years ago through your videos. I have all of your ebooks and I have learned so much from you. I wish you were on here posting a "weekly" tip or class for all of us "Liat Gat" lovers out here and we could look forward in seeing you and learning a little something from you every week. Thanks for posting this mosaic video. You always make every pattern look easy to knit with no worries. That's why I love your work.

extremely detailed and easy to follow instructions - thank you! I can see every move of the needles and the yarns - just what I need. Too many instructional videos have the artist hiding their work, and it becomes a "watch me knit this" video instead of instructions. Yours are the best I've ever seen. Do you have one on socks? Maybe I could finally learn!

Hi Gale, thank you so much for this high praise! My motto is "When people watch videos designed for their success, learning is inevitable and fun." So all my videos are designed for your success. Anyway, I definitely have videos on socks as I think socks are one of the best (and most fun) projects a knitter could ever do to increase their skill and enjoyment of knitting. I recommend you start with toe-up socks. Here is the link: www.knitfreedom.com/shop/toe-up-socks. We are actually running a group knitalong for toe-up socks that starts tomorrow! Signups are still open. You can definitely finally learn to do socks, and we can help! Here is the link: www.knitfreedom.com/shop/august-2022-toe-up-socks-class-and-knitalong/ You can reach me here or at happiness@knitfreedom.com if you need any support in your knitting. -Liat

Hi there, I saw your question about slipping stitches purlwise vs knitwise, although it seems you have now edited your comment. I always slip stitches purlwise unless that pattern says otherwise. When you slip them knitwise, they get twisted, which may not be part of the design. Cheers!

Thanks a lot. If I want to make a jumper with this pattern and the jumper takes 8 yarns , how many yarns go for the secondary color and how many go for the main color? I have a feeling that the secondary one takes more shaping mosaics and the main one shapes the edges between the mosaics. No?

Your instructions are very clear and thorough. I do though have a quick question; You mentioned that this is how you do stripes. Can you explain further what you mean? Thanks so much.

Have you knitted mosaics pattern that combines a plain color and a variegated yarn ? Then which yarn to choose as secondary and core colors? I am going to use mosaic to break the variegated yarn so that it doesn’t become strips .... for a pullover .... but not sure which one to choose a primary? If I use the variegated yarn for mosaics -secondary, it helps to break but doesn’t still shape strips?or should I use variegated as the main color and the plain color as secondary shaping the mosaics ? Sorry I know I asked a complicated question
@Knitfreedom4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an awesome project! The best way to decide which to use for the primary and contrasting colors is to knit up gauge swatches of each combination and see which you like more. It's also a great opportunity to check your gauge so your pullover fits perfectly :) Happy swatching!
@shahilagh4 жыл бұрын
@@Knitfreedom thanks :) I m really beginner and casting like 70 -80 and knitting just to see how it goes isn’t easy for me :)) but the thing is with variegated yarns and my adventurous spirit what else I can do :)

After row 9 ,if I continue Do I need to do row 1 due to both are knit
@Knitfreedom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Zubaida, Thank you so much for writing in! I am so sorry for the delayed response. To answer your question, row 10 in the video is a bind-off row in the knit stitch. So it is different than row 1. It is telling you how to bind off your knitting when you are ready. If you wanted to continue knitting the pattern and not bind off, you would repeat rows 9, and 10 like you did in rows 1 and 2 (knit one row, then purl one row in MC). If this doesn't quite answer your question, please email me at happiness@knitfreedom.com. I would be more than happy to explain it more clearly or even write down the pattern further for you 😊 Thank you again for getting in touch!

Interesting introduction to Mosaic; however, there is a major error in Row 8: the presenter omits (in the written pattern) the SL1 after purling the first 2 sts, and at end: to last 3 sts...p2. should be "sl1, p2". Very frustrating for a rank beginner to see such errors in a written pattern.

Row 8 confuses me. If you end with 3 stitches, what am I supposed to do with them? The instructions say "end p2" but if there are three, what to do?
@joycedudzinski94158 жыл бұрын
I was confused too, but looking at row 7 where it says...to last 3 sts, end Sl, k2.....I think that row 8 should read..to last 3 sts, you have to Sl 1 and end with P2...which gives you the total of three stitch thats needed to be worked. A typo error in pattern.

Thanks for the value judgment -- or sneer -- about "American" style. Which is actually "English" style. What difference does it make? It's actually much safer and more efficient.
@brianlewis67748 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I can speed knit English style almost as fast as Miriam Tegels. Way more efficient than continental.

Evie and Brian, when she said, “against my better judgment”, she was good-naturedly talking about her own slower knitting speed in American and her own personal preference to video in Continental. Maybe you’ll stress less if you try not to take things so personally.

Nice video, showing simple Mosaic Knittting. However, presenter could have left out negative comments about "American" style knitting. I was interested in Mosaic, not her opinion on which style knitting to do.
