I’m just starting and this is so helpful!! I am wondering, is there a reason we should do the tubular set up before joining? Would I mess it up if i joined the round when doing the tubular set up?
@KnitfreedomКүн бұрын
I'm glad this is helpful! I think there might be a reason that you need to do the tubular set up before joining, but I'm not sure. It might have to do with the end stitches. I think the best way to find out would be to do a short cast-on and try doing the tubular setup in the round and see if it comes out right! Let me know here how it goes!

My favorite part is when you put a suggested video right on top of the content we’re here to see, and then the video abruptly ends.

Do you do it the same way if the last stitch is purl?
@Knitfreedom11 күн бұрын
You can do the same maneuver but purl the 2 stitches together at the very end, instead of knitting them.

@ thank you so much. I started knitting (after years of crocheting) almost a week ago. I’ve only been doing swatches of different stitches and learning to fix mistakes

This is very interesting. I would love to see you take a sweater or vest apart so I can see how it is done easily. I have tried and it wasn’t as easy as RJ’s technique. I must be doing something wrong or maybe there are tips and tricks to know which items will upcycle easily or not.

Hello. Love your faux flap heel pattern. What difference does it make if we knit a stitch after the ssk or purl a stitch after a P2T? This pattern doesn't have this extra step.
@Knitfreedom17 күн бұрын
Thank you! It doesn't make a difference as long as the pattern numbers come out right. So you can design a pattern with or without the extra stitch. It's possible the extra stitch makes it a little more invisible, but I've never noticed a difference.

If you were to do this on the left edge (RS), you would knit the stitch and go down to the second stitch below? Thinking of symmetrical shaping. This is terrific-Thank you!
@mallaryc51142 ай бұрын
Sorry-unnecessary question-I figured it out!
@Knitfreedom2 ай бұрын
It's best to do the increase one stitch in from the edge. So just do this move one stitch before you get to the end.

Loved your explanation about various tensions. Too loose, too tight. Especially how the yearn should feel, in which I think is overlooked. Especially for new knitters, such as myself.

Hi Linda sorry for the long delay in replying. If it were me I would do the increases recommended on the pattern or just a simple M1L and M1R. I think that would be easier.
