How to do FORWARD BAY PARKING | Between 2 cars

Bay parking forward into a parking bay between two cars will sound a bit daunting for some new drivers. But once mastered it is a great little driving test manoeuvre to have.
I will be using very slow speeds with low clutch control and great observations to spot any hazards approaching whilst driving into a space with cars on both sides of me, then reversing out of that space at very slow speed and again using good observations to spot any hazards approaching.
This approach is what is commonly used by most drivers after they pass the driving test.

I struggle with this always worrying that I'm going to graze the cars either side. Not having spatial awareness doesn't help but if I'm parking into a bay (empty or eitherside cars) and I'm lopsided in the bay that either means my mirror isn't aligned with the line or I'm steering too strongly?

I passed my test about a year ago with no minors yesterday I just got a car I've never been so scared driving haha, a few little refresher videos and some practice on quite roads and I think I will be abit less scared. Thanks for the video

Good luck. Remember, if you can pass the hazard perception requirements of the theory test, you can pass the visual requirements of driving on the road. Same thing, just in real life. Just MSM and routines like you’ve been taught. It is easier than you think. Cause they just want the basics of safety for you. It is over in a flash. Enjoy it. Speak to your instructor. They’re nice.

Hi travis mate, having abit of trouble with double roundabouts my instructor seems to make things so complicated and am having a headache with them, trting to self educate an speak to friends and they basically said about this 12 aclock rule so does this basically mean on the approach if its past the point of 12 aclock straight ahead you just choose the right lane

Pea Nut If the exit is past 12 o’clock then you should be in the right lane. Treat double roundabouts as two separate ones.

Can someone please clarify if you can reverse to straighten yourself up during a forward bay park or move forward to straighten up when reversing into a bay? My instructor says thats a fail and im very nervous!!

Hi Leah, Yes you can adjust your cars position to improve it. It’s called shunting your car forward or back. You will pick up a driver fault for doing it and you would need to keep looking around as per normal on a manoeuvre, but you would still pass.
