Awesome as usual. Nice point about turning your hips slightly more than 180degrees, I rarely see that pointed out

It's funny how simple morote seoi nage is, how fundamental, yet how difficult it is to get it right. I've drilled it for weeks recently and learned it originally 10 years ago, and still at times do a stupid mistake in the way I move my body in just uchikomi. The way I got taught morote was that technically there's no too low. That if you kuzushi properly and keep the pull forward, the lower you can go the easier it becomes, that they'll just topple over even if you don't properly finish. On the other hand I'm also a tall guy so there's not many taller partners in the class, so any throw I practice I sort of need to get quite low to get the hips under. So with a same height guy it starts to look like Shintaro Nakano's morote seoi nage. But when I practiced with a 130 kg guy, morote was a bit scary. The grip height was one of the things that really helped, nice to see it addressed right in the beginning. I wonder if getting that lapel loose is part of why the Japanese do the aggressive hand waving.

Very good explanation! This throw tends to put a lot of pressure on my shoulder, more than ippon seoi nage. Is there a tip to prevent that from happening/hurting?

If my partner would wear a too tight judogi, I probably would do another throw. All should fit. After all it takes two to judo. Besides... Priceless video.
