This is my favorite one that I've learned so far (Ogoshi). You pointed out something that I was doing wrong, and I didn't have corrected when I did this last weekend, and that's the grip being on the bottom of the sleeve. You get pretty good at this one, you can use it to go into quite a variety of BJJ submissions, from arm bar to Kimura, to getting good side control.

I'd never seen Tsuri Komi Goshi explained so well. I never could get it to work for me neither! 😀 Reckon I could do it now, with a little practice.

There is no hip bump in Koshi-guruma. It's a wheel around the hip. Arm goes around the neck (that's how it is done in the Kodokan !). Your center of gravity should be lower than in O-Goshi (You should flex your knees more).

The tsuri komi goshi technique shown here is actually the taka tsuri komi goshi. Tsuri komi goshi is executed by grabbing the collar behind the neck and your arm extended upwards.

Great 📹 video. I often found myself having difficulties throwing a person that plants his foot after talking a step forward when youve done the pulling/balance break on him. Any tips? 🥋.

ryll3 you are more than likely pulling him too hard, so he has gone past the point of having his balance broken and by taking a step is now in the process of regaining his balance. Try to pull him so he is just on his toes and not actively stepping forward as a result of your pull. Also make sure you turn in and rotate your body before he steps so you catch him with momentum to fully maximise your efficiency with minimum effort.

@@SampsonJudo Much appreciated the input. Probably overdoing it as you explained. At some points, my different uke's tell me that i've got so much kuzushi in the beginning, that i could probably throw em by not put my hips to it. And every time i want some torque - rotation for the actual throw, i tend to "bump" in to 'em, and they regain there balance again, balancing on there planted foot. I will take your advice, and as soon as possibly put it to work

как раз так себе видео. уке гоши на почти прямых ногах с маленьким прогибом спины назад в начальной фазе чтобы взять захват глубоко на спине параллельно поясу. чтобы не законтрил надо согнуть противника вперёд и вывести его плечо вперёд, загрузив ногу. бросок за счёт выпрямления спины и поворота противника вокруг себя через сторону. о гоши - противника надо вытягивать вперёд на носки, брать захват не так глубоко и входить на согнутые ноги, при броске - таз идёт вверх, сам скручиваешься в сторону броска вниз. выглядят немного похоже, но абсолютно разные принципы исполнения.

! Kawaishi forms ... The O-Goshi and Koshi-Guruma presented, do not correspond to the basic techniques of Kodokan. Holding the belt in shape O-Goshi is called Ko-Tsuri-Goshi. In Koshi-Guruma, we surround the head, without tightening, open hand as to mimic a Mae-Mawari-Ukemi.

Hi sensei ... Can o goshi work on a very heavier opponent? In sumo often a smaller rikisi win heavier opponents with hip throws but hittin half opponent's hip ... Can o goshi works in this way?

Mirko Paragano yes, Ogoshi can work on a much heavier opponent as long as you do the technique correctly. The main point is getting your belt below his belt, having full hip contact and breaking your opponents balance. You can use half your hip, but this becomes uki goshi.

you do whats called a "Stomp throw" regular hip throw stomp you right leg to break the centre of gravity, works best with O Goshi type throw.

If you have your hand around the neck then it becomes Kubi Nage 🙂

In my Judo Dojo there is one kid that is literally 20 stone (120+ kg), he is also a bit short, and he is just impossible to grip. He just can't be gripped, because so heavy!

Savo Bursać try a high collar grip and try ashi Waza and throws such as Osoto, Uchi Mata, Harai Goshi. If he is that heavy and that much shorter than you it will be very hard to turn in below him.
