I believe it would be better to remove oil cap to create a vacuum before removing oil drain bolt
@jonahvlogsdiy41433 ай бұрын
Yes that's also a good idea.

There is a way to prevent the mess when removing the filter. Take a punch or Philips screwdriver and poke a hole in it to let it drain FIRST....
@jonahvlogsdiy41434 жыл бұрын
Lol. That might actually work.
@robertwilensik37114 жыл бұрын
And then if you can't remove it?
@davewilliams10974 жыл бұрын
@@robertwilensik3711 At some point it has to come off whether it has a hole in it or not. Maybe take the screwdriver and use it as a T handle for the filter to remove it.
@robertwilensik37114 жыл бұрын
@@davewilliams1097 Agreed. It does have to come off eventually. But, if I can't get it off, I want to drive it to the dealer rather than get towed.

Use some channel locks to grip the filter those filter wrenches suck.

Yes those guys at the Ford dealer almost always over torque the oil plug.

@ I almost gave up cuz it was so tight lmaooo
@diecast118scale72 жыл бұрын
They need to fire the tech that tightened that oil drain plug, that will only end up stripping out the threads in the oil pan. They do the same damn thing with oil filters tightening them way to tight.
@jamesflynn21363 жыл бұрын
would have been nice to know WHERE the oil filter is located. I'm guessing Left side of oil pan near the back?

Great video but for the love of God please do not use Fram filters. They are trash look them up on KZbin comparison videos.

Noted! Any suggestions for good filters?

@@jonahvlogsdiy4143 I use the Ford filter I'm under warranty still and that's what they want. Other cars I use mobil one synthetic. In the past I used the Fram until I seen that comparison video showing the guy cutting them apart and how cheap they are made. I'll try to find the link for you but it's a easy search tested like 4 filters and the Fram was horrible.
