What a great idea with your tip about just keeping top covered with cheesecloth. I've never thought of that with my oil infusions. I already do that making vanilla extract. Thanks!

Thank you for this video. The stalk of a mint plant has a great strong scent. Could you chop up the stem , dry it out and use that as the oil for a soap?
@TinaMoenck5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use many different herbs infusions in soap. The smell does not come through the final soap though. You could pair it with the essential oil. Not recommended for babies though... wanted to add that since this is a baby oil video for anyone reading.

Thank you. Can you use coconut oil?
@TinaMoenck5 жыл бұрын
I normally use liquid oil for infusions, but if you use coconut oil you'd have to strain it while it's still warm and liquid.

Maybe I can use fractionated coconut oil?
@TinaMoenck5 жыл бұрын

Awesome!! Thank you for sharing. What would the shelf life be for this oil?
@TinaMoenck5 жыл бұрын
As long as the herbs are completely dry it'll be the shelf life of your oil. In this case, 2 years.
