Hi, that was a very good video. Thank you sharing it with us. Just one doubt though. When you say 20% salt solution, do you mean salt weight is 20% of the paste weight?
@TinaMoenck4 ай бұрын
@raghutc6125 No I'm referring to just the salt solution. Say you have 10 grams of water you'd have 20 grams of salt for a 20% salt solution.

Hi Tina, what pH do you target after cooking? I am getting between 8-9 pH (I use pH strips). My soap solution is not clear though , maybe due to the oils I use.

Great video very informative. All the negative comments make my head hurt 🤦🏽♀️ I’m sorry people are so rude and feel they have to express their opinions. I love the video I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. ❤ loved the series. Very eager to watch more. Could you do a video on how you would start a soap business in 2024 if you was to start all over.

Hi Tina, Thanx so much for teaching us you are an excellent teacher. I have a question. I make soap mainly with coconut and olive oils and I add a special healing cream as well. the cream is made with aqueous cream plus essential oils and I'm not sure exactly what else. The problem is as soon as I add it to my oils it doesn't mix with the oils cause it's water based. Nowhere on the soap calc can I find aqueous cream to work out how much lye to add. Mostly the soap sets too fast. Do you know where i can find the saponification value of aqueous cream. Than you Regards deborah

Hi, I just wanna ask, after putting the soap to the loaf wood mold, what temperature ready to start using the heating pad? And When to shut off the heating pad? What is lowest temperature in a soap when I shutting off? Thank you so much for sharing and response
@TinaMoenck2 жыл бұрын
I would use low heat, and cover. Make sure to come back shortly often and check to make sure its not over heating. Once gel has happened, take the heating pad off.

can you mix your lye with aloe vera rather than water?
@TinaMoenck2 жыл бұрын
If it's mostly water, yes. You'd want to freeze it into cubes and add lye slowly. Or you could add a few ounces after trace, but just deduct the aloe amount from the water you mix the lye in.

2016...I'm just seeing this...thank goodness It is a very good explanation for someone like me who has never been good at figuring out anything percentage wise. I would like to purchase your book; as I am new to soap making and I love it . I have relied on MP and premixed CP. But would love to get good at the process for making CP...not a fan of HP. Thank you for this tutorial. I'll be watching for more. 💖💥💥💥💥💥👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Hi Tina, I have a couple questions please. 1. How often did you come back to stir the soap? 2. Did you keep the crockpot on all night at 160 as well? 3. Did you just mix to trace and then leave it before it reached the mashed porato stage? Or do you still come back to stir often before that stage? 4. How long will the extra paste last in the fridge? Can it be frozen? And does the finished product expire soon? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks so much for such a simple and informative video!
