This is a new technique unknown to me until this morning. I am so happy I discovered this art form. It is amazing. I have now seen a flower with 6 leaves and your beautiful butterfly. Thank you. I am going to look for more. I very much enjoy the silence and the focus and relaxing but also with some tension in the air. Just completely enjoyable and fascinating.

Ebru powder pigments prepared with water and ox gal acid. Takes about 2 months to prepare the paint well. Many marblers use acrylics.

Hello James, I just found you because I was searching for easy paper marbling techniques to do with my grandchildren during our lock down; then I spotted this beautiful butterfly!!! I hope to catch up with all your videos, but in the meantime could you tell me what kind of paper you're using please? I did some of the usual shaving foam and nail varnish marbling on cheap watercolour paper and cardstock many decade ago with my son, but I never on thinner paper, just wondering if it's something special? I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well!

Hi, I'm so sorry I missed your question, the notification system failed. I mostly use ordinary copy paper, you can try coloured copy paper too. Experiment with any scrap paper you have, sometimes you get interesting results by just getting stuck!
