my ideapad 3 gaming hai ..ram upgrade karna hai..16gb 3200mhz samsung ram hai aur crucial 3200mhz16gb add karna hai...dual channel karna hai possible hai kya..crucial ka ram add karne ke baad dual channel activate hoga kya...ye other brand purchase karu...plz anyone help me

Hi Sultan bhai..you have misinterpreted Single rank and dual rank Single channel ram is 64bit bandwidth it has smaller lanes whereas dual channel has 128bit memory bandwidth . Technically x8 modules are better than x16 as they have 64÷8= 8 chips modules to access simultaneously. Both x8 and x16 can come with single or dual rank configuration. Generally dual "rank" memory perform better than single "rank" in gaming. But overall Single rank is preferred as it goes around the track only once whereas in dual- rank track is lookup twice..

@@anuragmeshram4323 Preferable for all computing tasks including Gaming. Make sure it is a x8 module for DDR4 system with CL22 or lower Latency. Check in CMD what frequency and capacity is supported by your motherboard before buying to avoid any compatibility issue.

1rx8 refers to 8 banks of ram lower is better 1rx16 means 16 banks Dual rank is reffered as 2rx8 or 2rx16.. they both are different
