my shoulders are finished before feeling anything at core am i doing it wrong or is it normal

You may feel it more there if you are pulling the weight with your shoulders. Try to activate your hips and core to get the momentum, a slight bend in knees and hips, then use more of a twisting motion from hips and core to move the weight up.

In the vid here they have a higher lift in the dumbells which would add to the shoulder workout. So if you want that, keep lifting high, but don't forget the hip and core activation as you get the momentum.
