I do not have any experience but since I always had interests in being a BA I have a BA Qualification with Faculty of Training Institution IIBA already and I try hard as I can to shadow senior BAs and or Junior BAs so I can break into the space but truth be told it is not easy when there is no experience but i always practice what I already learned at the Training Institution

Hello Kara, nice effort to educate us....quick question, Is a BA job like Scrum Master?
@karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Everest, there are some overlap but the scrum master is the advocate for scrum in the organization, they are concerned with clearing roadblocks for the team and following the agile scrum guidelines to foster self-organizing teams that adapt quickly to change and they manage the sprints. So BA's work closely with scrum masters but the responsibilities are different. We are concerned with deliverig requirements, they are concerned with managing the process to get those requirements implemented. Hope that helps!

Hi Karaleise! I just discovered your channel as I consider a career change to BA. Just wondering which of your courses you would recommend for someone looking to change careers and wanting to learn the basics? Thank you!
@karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mel, thank you for watching and supporting my channel! I would recommend my case study course because it takes new BAs with no experience through a real world case study and shows you how to get started from 0 to writing detailed requirements. You can find it here: the-backoffice-club.teachable.com/p/business-analysis-case-study

Hi @Karaleise | Business Analyst Training , A friend had this interview question: What difference does he see working as a Vendor Business analyst compared to working directly with the specific business. Basically asking why does he want to work with them directly instead of working as a vendor. How to formulate a convincing answer for this question?
@karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Barath, this is another variation of the common interview question " why do you want to work here?" To answer this you would need to know something about the company and align yourself with them since you are being are being interviewed by them. Show why they would be a better fit for you than working with the vendor. You can align to their mission statement, you can align to their type of products, to who their clients are etc...

No need to have a specific MBA to become a BA. A Bachelor degree is enough. You can use some transferable skills in customer service, accounting, reporting, help desk ... But if you really wanted to pursue an MBA , you can go the traditional route with Business Administration or try something more realistic like Information Technology, Project management, Software engineer

Hi I am into field sales B2B and B2C from last 9 years and I am a BBM graduate and want to come out of this to make my career in BA.Is it possible for me being a non tech and can I count my current exp of sales or I will be treated as fresher only? How can I count my current exp of sales kindly I need ur valuable guidance
@karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Abhishek, thanks for watching my videos and supporting my channel. Sales is actually very aligned with being a Business Analyst. You work with prospects ( which are stakeholders), you uncover what their needs are so you can know what to sell them ( which is requirements elicitation), you present and drive discussions which is very transferable to the BA role. So yes I think you can definitely make the transition with your current experience. You will be new to the BA space but not a "fresher". Hi Karaleise, I want to purchase the BA case study course from your site. Just wondering if once I purchase the course, do I have lifetime access or will it expire at some point?
@karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Saz, when you purchases each individual course here: the-backoffice-club.teachable.com/courses then its for lifetime. So the Case Study course will not expire. If you purchase the BA Power Pack Training Bundle you get all 14 courses for one low price but there is a time limit so that you will take initiative to learn all the BA skills within that time and kick start your career. Thank you!

@@karaleise another question if I may. The course description says that we get to ‘do’ and work on a project ourselves. Just wanted to find out How does this work exactly? @@sazoneevery Yes its a video course. In the course I walk other students like you through how to approach a new project as a BA and how to arrive at the detailed requirements and provide the right documentation starting from scratch. @karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Queciana, Thanks for watching! Yes the bundle is great to help you get the BA job because its hands on. There is no fluff, its explained from scratch, its not conceptual only, its practical, real world and its in the details. When you buy the bundle you get all my courses. Its a lot so start with the case study course first, do the process flow diagrams course next, practice with the Documents BAs Produce course to learn what you should be delivering to your project as a BA. Then do the best practices for writing user stories ( it has examples from real projects!). Dont miss out on watching the course on doing Interviews, it has recordings of real interviews to help you see what questions to expect and how to answer. Companies don’t give six months to learn
@karaleise2 жыл бұрын
Hi Heart, thanks for watching. No the companies will not admit this but they know it takes 6 months for new employees to really deliver. However its not about them. Its about you. I want YOU to know it will take you 6 months to fully be able to add value there so that you give yourself some grace when you make mistakes. Its not 6 months for you to cruise and chill - No! Its 6 months of hard work for you to ramp up, learn the business, learn the process, learn the product and produce your deliverables. Along the way you are going to fail in some tasks, you are going to feel incompetent at some things and you are going to feel overwhelmed. I want you to know its normal and for youto keep going and not get frustrated. At the 6 months mark you start noticing that you have honed your skill and you start producing higher quality deliverables and you start really performing at a higher level. Hang in there! It'll happen.
@heartdesire74382 жыл бұрын
You are right but in reality they don’t, I am 2 months into the job trying to catch up and learn but my boss gave me a week ultimatum on Tuesday if no improvement by then they will let me go. I am trying to hone my skills and get understand their processes, point of contact etc. I will keep a high spirit and take into mind what you said.
