First impressions with the mod... Performance-wise mods, I only have a dual exhaust conversion with a X-pipe and Varex Valve mufflers with stock manifold and stock cats. It is an automatic and has the stock ECU, no tune. It's very easy to do, first time doing it the sound and chop was really good. Only point of concern is that I could see the Idle tensioner rocking back and forth with the engine, and when coming to a stop, the whole car jerks back and forth until you fully stop with your foot on the brake. Driving for a few minutes, it ran completely normal as if nothing was changed. With a completely stock exhaust setup you won't get much out of this mod as the stock muffler is very quiet. I've done the cam mod with the Vacuum leak before with a muffler delete, stock Y pipe, single exhaust, and It was very quiet. With dual exhaust and aftermarket mufflers, your results will vary depending on how open the mufflers are, but it will overall be louder _especially_ with the AC running which puts more load on the engine and thus makes the exhaust louder. Personally I'd use this only at a car meet or if I'm with friends/people that I want to show it off too. Definitely do this at your own risk as your engine is not supposed to run like this and this mod hasn't been test long term.

If you reset you check eng lights it may stay off for good if not just put the filter back and reset you codes and it will go away or run it with the eng light on and when your done put the filter back to normal and reset the codes once done it should stay code free

I have a 2010 4.0 auto, I did the mod and I’m experiencing some problems. I washed the car this morning and I left it on. And I noticed that the car as idling very very low . To the point where it was ab to stall. So I proceeded to put the car in drive and it stalled on me. I drove it like 40 miles lastnight. And It was doing great. But now the car will not start . It’s blowing white clouds of smoke at trying to start. It’s like it wants to start but it’s like it’s clogged. PLZ help

All you need to do is put the filter back like normal and the car should be fine if not then it wasn't the mod that caused an issue, also your idle speed might be set to low that's why it's stalling I reccomend 675 at the lowest

Its your egr deal.. when you restrict the egr valve like that it increases pressures whichcauses the pcv system to start pushing the crankcase pressures out and could clog up that pcv valve. Also could be the filter in your fartbox (charcoal canister) is stopped up. If you start getting high gas tank pressures or having issues filling with gas it could be that whole evap system as well with the increased pressure from the reciculation not recirculating. Also lastly you could have a dirty maf or idle air control valve in the intake from the shitti exaust gas build up where its trying to reburn the gas and not getting enough air to push it back to the intake to be burned again.. all of these things are easy to chedk abd cheap to fix.. only long term issues are if you dont fix the issue than youd just get excessive schmoo buildup internally which can be cycled out with some mmo or seafoam or sonething..

This sounds good yeah, put it’s cutting off circulation of the gas etc and as well I tried it but your car releases so much excess gas idk if that’s good or not but didn’t like the smell so I put it back to normal

yeah its def dumping more raw fuel so your burning more gas and im sure its having effects on the motor not to mention spark plugs ect while it sounds amazing i am aware it could be having negative effects my goal / plan is run it sometimes ( more than not ) and if my motor goes then drop in a 4.0 v6 thats got like 60k miles or less or swap, but i doubt ill swap because come nov 2021 im gonna be supercharging the 4.0 so ill most likly keep the 4.0

The more restricted your exhaust is the more it will smell sadly , as far as safe goes yes and idk, for me it has been but others had issues so I say 50/50 I personally had this for over 1.5 years no issue but I have free flow exhaust

What I highly reccomend doing is look for items you need for the swap and buy them when they only go on sale slowly collect parts until you got everything then save up enough to have it all done trust me your dream will come true you just gotta make goals and plans and stick to them you got this!!

you may or may not get a check eng light, as well as dep on exhaust setup the exhaust will be strong ( fumes smell ) due to burning the fuel more lean honestly its fun to do but if its a daily i wouldnt i run mine about 85% of the time now but if my motor goes ill just swap so if its a ride u cant do that i wouldnt because there could be so many unknowns even tho nothing has happened to mine yet

Hey Scott. So just finished up doing the mod. Only have one concern right now. Idk what you call it, but it looks like the lower left pulley tends to move up and down whenever I have the ghost cam active. Not sure how much stress that’s causing. Is it something you’ve seen in your research?

if the EGR looks the same then maybe at some point your filter was lost/ removed you can buy a foam filter on ebay/amazon and customize it how ever you want

the filter should already be in the egr cap as far as finding them i could not find any of the filters however for the past 2 weeks i have been testing out other foams and so far so good, i cut out a square piece of this and put it inside and it works the same, amzn.to/2GphNA5 you just cut out a square piece and place it in, you can listen to your exhaust to get the best size and shape, so with the foam you can cut it as is into a square and place it inside if the car dont sound good or stalls or close to stall, what you do is make the square you cut out, thinner so not as " thick " slowly cut little slivers off of the thickness until you get the car to sound/ idle how you want

You'll need to out the filter back to normal drive it 20 miles back to normal then use a scanner you can get em 20-30 bucks that allow you to read and reset codes so after the 20 miles reset the codes then

@@RevLine89 agreed. I seen people do that with 4.0 s on KZbin and it sounds almost identical except this isn't a vacuum line which is good. My 4.0 just fucked up too sadly. I get alot of compliments on the sound of mine too. Would sound good if i get it fixed and try it out.

Hey man. Finally got around to messing with this and wanted to let you know how it went. Running a stock tune with Dual X pipe on an 08 V6 Prem. First off it sounds fucking mean. Like.. REALLY mean. I love it. But I can tell it's messing with my electronics. First start it killed my passenger headlight and then it came back on after a minute or two. Also had the cabin overhead lights flickering. I could really feel the rocking in the cabin as well sitting in the driveway which makes me feel like it's not the best on the car and could see the RPMs jumping a good bit while idling. I really love it but as of right now don't think I can keep running it but I REALLY want to. My first thought is trying to make your own foam piece that could be tailored to this to make it more simple and maybe not as extreme but that's just me. All in all. It works. It's mean but does seem to have an effect of my 08 V6 Prem.

Yeah I do that's actually pretty common in real cammed cars I had a few that did the same thing ( they had real cams ) more heavy the cam more idle jump

Just go get a v8 my guy instead of fiddle fartin around with your valves, and sensors. If you put that much money in on upgrades for your 4.0, you could’ve had a v8 with a simple flow master cat back. Not hating on it, it’s just confusing on why cause future problems to it.

go get a v8? ive had over 9 v8's since i was 17 where is the fun in doing the same thing everyone else is doing? been there done that this is my 15th build and one thing ive learned after 14 rides is its about having fun doing what u want not what the heard does everyone just v8 swaps or buys a v8 ect i find it more fun to build and mod/customize and play with stuff to do something no one or very few have ever done i find more joy in that than building a 500+ hp v8 ( again already done that ) my v6 build has been more fun than my v8 builds for the simple fact that doing something not many do is a whole lot more fun than going with the same old motions everyone else follows!, try it sometime , seriously buy a thunderbird or heck something that old ladies drive, then build it out mod it out customize it! you'll quickly see its more fun than following the crowd!
