A lot of guns are good with gun psyker, thing is you are now consuming ammo and thus potentially causing ammo issues for the other classes who dont have the option of none ammo consuming ranged weapons like psyker does. One of the defining strengths of psyker is that you have ranged options that never run out of ammo.

I rarely find myself using Deadshot. I would rather just forgo Lonshot and Volley Adept for Always Prepared and On Your Toes for Weapons Specialist. My gun's out of ammo? Melee kill a few things, press Q, melee kill some more things, press Q. Voila, you're fully loaded again and are spitting out toughness like no tomorrow. It also helps that the Bolt Pistol is only an 8 round weapon. Krak grenades are a fine choice, but I'd figure the Bolt Pistol would be good enough to deal with armored mobs, plus the Shredder grenade and Survivalist (the other 2 auras are still underwhelming so until Fatshark buffs them, Survivalist or die baby) are just so helpful in staying full on ammo and making everything stagger and bleed to death. I'd also go Born Leader, since you're just pissing out toughness left and right, anybody near you will be borderline unkillable as well. Overall, I've found Weapons Specialist to be the absolute best keystone for Veteran and it's not even close. Focus Fire is only useful if you can actually mark things fast enough before your team annihilates them, and Marksman's Focus is extremely skill oriented, but suffers with the desync in Darktide from the sheer amount of enemies you deal with all at once. Not only that, but the talent path to Weapons Specialist is good no matter what you pick really.

I also very much like Always Prepared, but I had a double barrel shotgun gameplay 2 Darktide videos ago utilizing it as the main part of the strat a few months ago, and have a bunch more double barrel gameplay recorded on this new patch doing the same thing. So was looking for some ways to change it up a bit on Veteran. Weapons Specialist is for sure bananas, so many good nodes on that side of the tree

I would honestly forget about the rending weapons talent and just go for the 20% increase to Ogryn and monstrosity damage just to the right of it. You deal similar damage to crushers, perform a lot better against bulwarks and reapers, and have more to offer against bosses, especially since you picked up grenade tinkerer, Just in general, 10% rending doesn’t help you very much, and the Onslaught talent (stacking 2.5% brittleness per hit) has far better performance, especially on full auto weapons.

Indeed or those 2 points could be put into +33% weakspot damage and +25% imo. But 2 points for 10% rending is horrible choice since it brings so few to the table. That Invigorated perk (under weapons specialist) isn't really good. I hear people coming with +20% stamina is for deadshot but duck and dive would provide more stamina overall AFAIK. Also the stamina triggers when you swtich to melee instead of ranged with makes you switch a ton for only +20% stamina, its just not worth it. Also the build lacks explanations on curios and what should be brought. Its an average build that could be better without removing of that comissar fantasy.

@@alexandreparent5754 rending strikes is genuinely a horrible node and idk why so many people play with it. 10% extra damage is beyond negligible and its right next to 20% damage to ogryns which is really why people take rending strikes in the first place. Field improv or reciprocity or even competitive urge would yield way better results.

Any Veteran that isn't allergic to melee gets a stamp of approval. The amount of people I see pretending the game is all shooting even in Damnation is staggering. It's the biggest reason I main shieldgryn and take all the taunts. The bolt pistol has been a ton of fun on all the human classes, I'm glad it doesn't take a year to pull out like the boltgun but also doesn't completely outclass it. If and when we finally get a plasma pistol, I hope it's just as schnasty.

LOL IKR I mostly play a berserker Veteran. I love swinging my Rashad like I am a axe wielding mad man! When you hit that sweet spot just above their heads and take out an elite in one hit: priceless. Rashad, Bolt Pistol, 3x Regenerating grenades, Old trusty yell= anything and everything is game with my build :P

I try to use my melee against the the horde based enemies mostly as it feels wise to conserve ammo for the ranged enemies, specialists, and elites...etc.

The carpel tunnel / finger fatigue is so real even with auto clicker macros for things like spamming light attack/laspistol shots. You usually need to time your melee combos manually. It's lots of fun but really can't play it multiple days in a roll.

this is one of the best game ever made. of course its just my personal opinion. I loved being able to play as commissar style from the beginning. I was using revolver and devil claw sword but in my head ideal is bolt pistol (which we now have) and a broad sabre, not the thin duelling one thats in game. So Im still waiting for a proper thick sabre :) also more hats and coats would be great :D

The weapons that don’t shoot fast enough to benefit from onslaught typically don’t need much rending.

You’re right that 10% rending is pretty bad. Bring it Down is alright, but Competitive urge is definitely the best of the three. 2.5% chance for 8 seconds is really high uptime in Auric.

i got a sort of crowd control build for my Comissar build. more or less the same, i just use a power sword. that and in general i tend to use my bolt pistol for crowd control with all the ranged supression i got and the Aoe. so it often makes a horde of infested start to cower or just general cultists and traitor guardsmen to cower i fear. It is also mainly due to not having a good chainsword at the moment as i do like it, i just haven't gotten any good ones yet

Reciprocity is definitely better than brittleness. Having (usually 25%) better Riposte as a single node is simply way better than Uncanny Strike but somehow worse. Rending is low impact in general, so Rending Strikes is consequently pretty bad. The krak grenades in the build will work fine against crushers. Onslaught with full-auto is pretty much the only time to use it. I would personally switch out Grenade Tinkerer for Covering Fire. Going for Covering Fire also makes Born Leader a great pickup, and even with just Confirmed Kill Vet makes insane toughness so it’s just a great node in general for quickplay.

Ciaphas Cain doesn't use the Eviscerator. Despite what the covers and propaganda posters may tell you, he uses a bog-standard, scratched and scarred guard-issued chainsword, with the only difference being that he has a power-cell engine rather than a fuel-based engine. That's why for pure lore reasons, even if it's impractical, I'd use the XIIg model of the Chainsword because it has more complicated patterns that demonstrate his skill with it better, even if it's a rather bad pairing considering both are single target based.

I think I've seen 3 hats. One red, one black and one red with a bionic eye. The problem is that the cosmetic shop rotates available items so if you don't see it in the store now, it'll come back eventually, but we won't really know when, unfortunately (one of the big gripes of the players).

I did not know the rarity of the weapons does not impact their contribution for a mastery. As a casual player who spend his money / Ressourcen before the update the have hafe two "nice" weapons I feel somewhat burned. I like the premise of the update, I have to grind a lot to get the weapon masteriers, and similar customizing options I already had before :/

Ive been saying i for over a year and Ill say it again. Its very bizzare that the best melee character is veteran, as it makes zelot feel meh when you play it and kill less in the range its supposed to excel at... Saying that veteran is my favortire class fantasy in Dtide and I love melee in games so Im not gonna complain to much. Also interestingly this build has been my go too since they released that stadium map, although I ran power sword and what ever ranged weapon I felt like using as the build can work with any weapon combo Imo.

I don't understand the point of taking Volley Adept, but not Always Prepared. There's always something you can melee to death in any Auric mission. You can quickswap in-between each melee kill to refill 1 bolt on each melee kill, but you don't even need to be that efficient. Just about any group of poxwalkers, groaners, or anything at all you find in melee range becomes a free ammo refill with no reload.

did you just start playing the game recently? Plasteel was THE bottlenecked resource for 2 years, since launch. even for hardcore players. that only changed relatively recently. so people coming back to the game with the new update will often be lacking in the resource department

well that was kind of the issue, plasteel made it difficult to experiment with a lot of different classes and weapons, because upgrading them would cost a prohibitive amount, and would therefore soft lock you out of higher difficulties unless you wanted to run subpar or underlevelled gear. its less of an issue now, but like i said those changes are relatively recent

NGL, after finishing Space Marine 2, this new video about Darktide made me wonder if it was finally worth to pick up, but upon hearing that there are like 8+ different currencies to juggle and the whole mass clicking, I think I'll pass this up.

It's only 5 currencies, 2 of which aren't even important. One currency is from weeklies (not important as it's just for equipment that is pre-maxed out and not even that good now since you can generally craft better), one is for the premium cosmetics shop (not important at all and is acquired via creditcard) and the other 3 are all acquired at the same time while playing a mission (1 for completing the mission, other 2 from finding them around the mission level). It's not complicated.

Darktide still has no content and most of it is a travesty , why cant we play a zealot as a crusader with a tempest shield & sword ? This gives another tank class So many ways to improve the game and yet the devs are knee deep down in shit and the "pariah" narrative , no real bosses that stand out than the 4 variants of Renegade Guard captains with the piss bubble around them cause "one shotting the boss is bad" Just tired of this mascarade of a game , Space marine 2 is a game made by people that even have the dedication to put 2 000 pts list like builds inside of it. Fatshark really disappoints and knowing that half the vermintide team left , man I m just asking for a good game where we dont play space marines and we could have it but they had to fuck it up somehow when all you have to do is open a codex or wh40k book about the guardsmen & civilians and just copy paste Fuck this really

Its okay, Space marine has depth for max 40 hours in PVE after that theres no curve no nothing. Bolters are nerf darts, melee puts you in a defensive (take more damage) and offensive disadvantage (deal less damage) than ranged. 600 enemies in 20+ minutes compared to darktide that does have around 5x more enemies is crazy to me. (Proved via scoreboard in both games after a match of similar playtime). Don't get me wrong, i wish the game was better, but it just aint Darktide. Darktide has this extremely high skill ceiling and more adrenaline pumped into the gameplay.

I bought a new 1200€ PC mainly for darktide, and its the only game i have stuttering problem with lol. More than a year later and it still hasnt been fixed for me, would really love to play the game but im unable to. Meanwhile newer demanding games like space marine 2 run smooth as butter

They finally implemented a “fix” after 6 months and it didnt fix any of the problems. Audio is still shit and people still disconnect constantly. Half a year with miserable performance on console is honestly impressive.

@@rareraven it has nothing to do with someones pc needing an update. All amd users, which is everyone on console, and some pc players have experienced these problems. Since the update mid april almost 6 months ago performance has been abysmal. Its not an opinion its a known problem .

Did you try adjusting your settings? depending on PC turning off some of the more intense extra settings can have a big impact.
