This is well done. My question is how does this hold up to barrel heat? Is the paint rated for heat? And what is the price for a weapon this size
@LiquidConceptsUSA4 жыл бұрын
For the coating, it will hold up just fine to normal barrel heat. Now if you have a fully auto with a silencer then you may be pushing the limit of the coating. This coating will hold up to around 250-300 degrees which should be more than enough for any normal operating gun. Also the price is dependent on the gun and exactly what you want done. If you can shoot us an email at info@liquidconcepts.com with what you have and what your wanting done, we can get you a quote.

Excellent Tutorial!!!! Once complete how long does the look last for? Can the film withstand heat? Some people have mentioned heat resistant spray paint vs. film which is the best method to use? Does this custom design effect the gun functioning properly can the film get stuck inside and affect the gun function?
@LiquidConceptsUSA4 жыл бұрын
If the dip is done correctly, it will last years down the road. This is a permanent coating. It will hold up to around 200-300 degrees. Normally when dipping a gun, you only dip the outside and try to protect the inside from getting dipped so you dont affect the function of the gun.
@kevinbillman124 жыл бұрын
If your film is not big enough for the piece you're dipping can you add a small piece right a side of it when you dip or is it better to tape it off and do a double dip?
@LiquidConceptsUSA4 жыл бұрын
It is better to double dip it so you can control your line and make sure it lines up as best as possible. If you just lay film down next to each other, then there is a possibility that it could have a line next to it or something like that.

This is a permanent coating that if taken care of properly, you will get years of use out of it easily! Most of the time we charge around $300 - $350 for an AR-15 to be fully dipped in a pattern from butt stock to muzzle brake.

When you put tape on the side you dipped first, is it already clearcoated? Seems like tape would pull the pattern off if it wasn’t cleared yet. I have to do my first butt stock with carbon so I’m trying to make sure I got it down before I pull out my film
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
If the dip is properly applied to the base, then the tape will not pull off the dip as it is bonded into the paint. If the dip was not activated correctly then it may pull the dip off. When we was shooting this video, we was not clear coating and this was directly to the dip itself.

Did you use Inter-Coat on the 1st side before taping?Do you leave the Activator in the gun overnight(all of the time),or does it have to be emptied from the gun every night?Also,does it have a "shelf life" in the gun?As always,Thanks for sharing!
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe we did use an inter-coat on the first side before taping up the 2nd side. Yes we do leave the activator in the gun the entire time we are using the gun. We never clean it out and just keep adding more and more to the cup. Yes it does have a shelf life of normally 1 year from the date of purchase.

@LiquidConceptsUSA4 жыл бұрын
Mainly you can wait till its dry. If the tape pulled off the ink then you have an activator issue or a paint issue. You either need more activator or your using the wrong paint.

How does that dipping effect the serial number? I have heard of the ATF busting people for these dips filling in the serial number and trying to charge people for altering or tampering with the serial number if they are full of paint or these dip film... Although I know the serial number has not been really effected, they still say that you are trying to hide or alter the number. Ask me it is a bunch of BS to me, but I do not want my customers or myself getting into trouble with this. Only other thing I know to do is, tape off the serial number area? Not sure how that will look, but just a thought that may save someone a lot of hassle with the Feds.
