This is a solid video overall that would benefit basically every person who is single and "broke". Living close to your job and cooking at home is the first thing I look at when someone asks how I save money. Somehow Americans have forgotten these things and yet as I travel around the world it is common knowledge in "third world" countries where people are earning $200/month.

When people have to save, they find a way! People's perception of what is "needed" definitely changes throughout the world

Finally maxing my Roth TSP next year. All gas, no brakes in the C Fund. Life's easy being car free for 2½ years and spending a few minutes a week to track every dollar in and out.

I would love to see what you got at the grocery store that was so cheep that they were double checking to make sure they rung you up correctly. Thanks for the video!!

I would recommend that u don't ever tell friends and family members your goals cos they can discourage you. The brain is a powerful tool. Use it WISELY. Your money is yours. Safeguard it .

You should do a video on people that live off of the government. How does the bottom 20% percentile live? They only make about 25K per year and get by. That would be interesting material

Man, that would be an interesting video

I also live in about 25k, so they probably live something like me :)

@@RunningonFIREOnly problem is that majority of the ppl living off of welfare can't invest. Almost like the system is designed to keep them poor 😭

I make about $19k/year and I live in a very affordable city. Top 10 last I checked. I have a roommate. I ride my bike to work. I only eat twice a day. I don't have health insurance. I don't have streaming or a tv or subscriptions. I wear my clothes to almost rags then shop at goodwill or thrift. The plus side is I don't have student loans - the downside is I don't have 'an education' so getting a better job is a lot harder.

There you go again -- throwing out a challenge. Evaluating the T. The H is pretty much a no go, but I'm in different circumstances. The E is a great challenge. I've already implemented a few things in the past couple of months. I've dropped the groceries by 50%. Now I will look for more ideas.

I like challenges because my videos only help if people take action :) Congrats on the huge grocery savings! That's massive

Some possible solutions which I really like Transportation: Living in a walkable city with great public transit is a solid bet. Housing: Multigenerational housing, assuming you get on well with your entire family. It's common all around the world except for the US. Eating: Investing in a simple but healthy cookbook is a great start. It's also pretty easy to cut out expensive red meats In all honesty, I thought E was going to be entertainment.

100%, thanks for adding in some extra value! I'll be honest, I was torn between entertainment and eating. But entertainment just wasn't quite a big enough expense for the average person

Try saving 20% Of your salary per month if possible. I started this in Dec 2024. Open a separate bank account and have no access to it at all . Make the account a long term savings account like 10 years.

I personally prefer to get that money invested, but exact same concept. Your money is for saving, NOT spending!!!

I'm so glad you didn't say, "If you dollar-cost-average into dividend stocks for 40 years, you can retire." 😂
@RunningonFIRE18 күн бұрын
Its true... but you can speed that WAY up if you save more than just 10% of your income

Talk about more ways of making money, like side hustles. Please and thank you😅
@RunningonFIRE19 күн бұрын
Id love to help but it's really not my area of expertise. This youtube channel is my only side hustle and it's not what I'd recommend to others. There's a ton of channels that are exclusively focused on side hustles, too
