Latency more important than 10-15mbs when playing games, but doesnt matter for downloads. So maybe switch for download and then switch back for gaming. I'm no expert but latency is response time and nothing to do with speed. Example I was told is two people throwing/catching a ball. The speed the ball is thrown/traveling is download speed and how long the person holds the ball is ping (response)

The Open Home DNS setting worked best for me. Changed my download rate for the latest MW update from around a fluctuation of 1-10 Mbps to a steady 29/30 Mbps ! Not much, but definitely better than what I was getting with automatic DNS.
