How To Downgrade Your Firmware 1.8.0 To 1.7.0 - Canon R6

Canon messed up with the last firmware upgrade for the Canon R6...the faulty firmware was removed from the downloads of the Canon official website, however, the people who had already downloaded and installed it were not given any information nor informed of any potential issue and possible solutions. Sooo, I'm going to show you how you can downgrade from firmware 1.8.0 to 1.7.0 in just a few very easy steps.

On Apr 1, I watched your video on how to update firmware to 1.8.0. On that date, the latest firmware happened to be 1.8.1. I just watched this video today (4/4), and thought that like good comedy, "timing is everything" when downloading anything to one's computer. I'm happy to know that in addition to actually having 'the latest' firmware, I now also know how to replace faulty firmware with an earlier good version. Thanks for your diligence. BTW, my understanding is the "P" designation is for 'Program'.

Hi Dan, just downgrading, 9% already done. Thanks!👍 Now finished. Downgraded from 1.8 to 1.7. It is done. The R6 seems to be working just fine though I didn´t have any issues with ver. 1.8

Hey Dan, thank you for this video! I had a question, do you think the R6 will get a similar firmware update to the R5 in the future such as possibly removal of the 29:59 recording limit. Possibly along with overheating fixes and certain features from the upcoming big R5 firmware update since they both came out at the same time and have the same processor? Maybe this could be a sign?
