Can you load different measurements into the ready pattern to get a pattern for somebody else?

Yes! That's why I switched to these digital patterns.

Is seamly any different that valentina. I tried Valentina and stumbled on so many problems, errors and other things that I am ready to give up trying to learn to computer draft. It drives me crazy to follow instructions closely but get some crappy errors. Maybe I should just load Seamly instead.

So, they used to be the same thing and then the 2 creators split paths and divided it into valentina and seamly. Seamly has done a lot of updates and changes since then. Hope this helps!

@@ReadyEmKayThank you. I switched to Seamly right after I wrote that and I was able to do what I have planned successfully. Pattern is ready, now I need to figure out a better layout for printing. Seems to be tricky ...Perhaps needs exporting to another app? Hope not...If you can give me please some tips how to go about setting up the layout and printing ...one more thanks for your kind reply.

How do I (as a man) enter my chest measurement? Do I use 'Bustline?' I'm dabbling with this software program but I'm not sure what to do with it, or if/how it can help me. There is a dearth of patterns for men, and I'm not at all shaped liked the basic pattern model. I'm just beginning garment sewing and can't find any suitable patterns to work from. Any suggestions how I might proceed? Thanks.

Hello! First off, yay for dabbling! So, when I first started making my own patterns it was because I was pregnant and then post-pregnant and nothing fit me right, and I didn't like putting together entire sewing patterns to find out it didn't fit me at all. So I learned pattern-making. If you are not shaped like a basic pattern model this is definitely a great option for you. I used to use this software to do custom patterns for people who didn't fit anything, so it definitely works for anyone. For this t-shirt pattern in particular I would just take your widest measurement and use it for your bust/waist/hip since it's a square block t shirt. I have 2 more series that I'll be finishing editing in the near future. One is more complex patterns for people with fit challenges and how to draft to address those needs which will help you make better shaped patterns for you. The next is a fitting/altering series to fit issues which helps during the sewing process and pattern-making/editing. In the meantime, when I was learning, alterations videos for my specific needs helped a lot just figuring out how to manipulate patterns and fabric to fit better. Hope this helps! I'll make sure to link in the more complex drafting playlist here for you when it's posted.
