This video goes over the procedure to delete your DPF and install an aftermarket exhaust on your LML duramax. The truck in the video is a 2013 but it should be basically the same procedure for any 2011-2016 duramax. I also go over the steps to remove the DEF tank.

After fixing it, the screen tells me that the exaust fluid , I have a few miles to run. many people say I need to change everything and delete . but my question is can the computer be reprogrammed? Because the accident was not a big deal, that appeared to me because in the shop where they fixed it, maybe they moved it without adding liquid fluid I hope u can help me thanks a lot 👍

Thank you for the video! One tip for anyone who doesn’t want to remove the def tank is to make sure you unplug the big harness or it will continue to spout def fluid onto the ground…the mini maxx tune worked great

Followed your video for this, my only issue was the straps for the def tank cover that were high on the body side were torx bolts and stripped both so I guess the tank will be staying up other than that your video helped a ton the downpipe was extremely fun

Great video! This helped me out a lot and I just finished the entire job. However I have a leak with that coolant pipe to the top of the bell housing! Wiggling it made it worse. Have any recommendations on how to tighten the tube in without taking new down pipe out again?

Thanks for the videos man! I have a 2015 duramax that just threw a code for emissions 160 miles till max speed 65. The code was the egr has exceeded learning limit. Im going to do a basic dpf delete as soon as possible. Just worried that the egr is stuck open. It’s running great. A mechanic friend of mine told me that if that valve was suck open it would be running like crap? What would happen if I did the dpf delete and the egr is stuck open? Or maybe I can do the dpf delete and see what happens? Thanks again for the videos, id really appreciate some advice

Hey I recently purchased a 2012 lml that someone did this to but just welded in a straight pipe in its place and reflashed the ecm. Just curious where I should go from here I don’t have the stock tune or def and not sure if I do the full egr next or what looking for suggestions or options. Not really knowing what’s the next step.

As much as I hate the emissions on gm diesels, this was a very informative video. Kudos for giving that disclaimer at the beginning to cover your butt. If you're in Ontario you can't even sell this vehicle because no licensed Tech with half a brain will risk their license to pass these! The fine for deleted emissions in Canada is around $10000 last I heard. Might be more now.

Not sure where you're located, but would be willing to get my truck to you if you could help. You're clearly the right guy for the job. I've got a 2012 Silverado 2500 HD. Was driving back from a very long trip and just made it back into Minnesota while towing an empty 24' enclosed trailer. Speed was relatively low, about 60MPH and right as I accelerated to pass, there was a loud gunshot sound. The bang sounded like it came from behind the truck but not from a backfire as it never has in the 40,000 miles I've owned it. It was nighttime so I couldn't tell if it was dark or white smoke, but there was a LOT only while using the diesel pedal. DPF message came on about cleaning the tank, so I stopped to fill it, hoping I could just limp home. After filling, engine power reduced message came on and the trucks speed was limited to 39mph by GPS. 40mph per the dic. Took a few miles to reach that speed as well. If I put the pedal down to accelerate the engine would surge down like it was shifting into a lower gear like a exhaust brake, though the exhaust brake was off. If you're willing to lend some advice so I can DIY or if you're willing to physically help, feel free to call or text 6125014095. Really look forward to hearing from you. Codes P2463, P0420, P0299. Hmm that's strange, I don't know what would cause the loud bang sound. The first two codes are emission related, but I believe that third code is turbo related. Super tough to diagnose without actually seeing the truck in person. As for location, I am located up in Saskatchewan Canada, so I doubt you would want to lug it all the way up here haha

Honestly if all you are doing is just a basic delete, a Mini Maxx will be fine. If you are wanting to do some serious engine upgrades you will have to go with custom ezlynk or efi live tunes

Personally on a duramax I recommend just slapping a single EFI Live tune on. Either a 25 or 45HP level. 25 if you tow heavy lots and 45 if you mainly use it for daily driving unloaded

@Dark Iron Diesel I’ve got a 2015.5 all fully stock with 150kms...the DPF filter must be cracked because it’s a decent smoke show during a burn off and I get a puff of black smoke on takeoff during normal driving. No codes, been like this for about 2.5 years and runs fine otherwise. Am I causing any harm to the engine with a cracked DPF? I Will delete it but still researching the best option for me (fuel economy, reliability and CP4 longevity...)

I have to say, you have the most informative videos I've ever seen on here. You know how to move the camera so we can clearly see too. Thank you. l do have a question that I can seem to find an answer to....I have a 2013 Durmax 2500 HD with the LML motor. I bought it from a used truck dealer about 6 years ago. What I didn't know is the the def system had been deleted until I took it back a month later because of a hose hanging down. They said it was "chipped and deleted" Now, years later, the motor is blown and I am going to be having it replaced with a "drop in" stock motor. I didn't think about that?? What would I need to do? Buy and replace the exhaust system? I don't want to go to the DEF system.

Just replace the engine but keep the ecm and exhaust you currently have. Also, you should get the trim codes from the injectors in the new engine and have them programmed in with a scan tool (a normal repair shop should have a scanner capable of doing this)

One more thing I have been struggling with, My SCR went bad on my 2016 Nissan Titan XD at 23 thousand miles November of 2020.. I live in a no emissions testing state and Nissan does not warranty emissions systems in those type of states.. Go figure.. Even my crappy extended warranty did not want to help out.. even told me if I was to take it off they would probably not cover most of anything in the drive train.. So my question is this, I don't want my truck to be much louder than it is now, and not to look like a coal burner. Is that possible? Thanks..

Hi man! I enjoy your videos! I have a question if you could answer for me.. I currently have an h&s tune on a 2013 lml and just curious if low boost fueling is effected when removing speed limiter? I had it removed with low boost set to 4.. throttle was very responsive. Later retuned to keep speed limiter on so I would have cruise however now throttle response feels sluggish. If you can't answer no problem! Thanks for the video though! Very infprmative👍

Hmm I’m not sure, what you could do is program truck back to stock, then program the tune back on it and select the settings you want. That way you know for sure how it’s set up.

@@darkirondiesel Yeah indid that..lol by accident I turned key from on to acc. Then tune froze so I shut everything off and started over With the tune I had to begin with. I have it set to low boost at 4 like before but with speed limiter on.. and throttle seems like stock.. I will try same setting tomorrow but remove speed limiter like I originally did and see if that is what it is. Thanks for replying sir!

I dunno an exhaust is an exhaust, there isn’t really much differences between the brands. I like flo pro because they are Canadian and it’s easy to get them where I live.

If your truck is in limp mode because of a failed emission component then yes the delete will clear that. And unplug the 2 egr valves and throttle valves under the hood and leave them unplugged

You need some type of programmer that can disable the emissions system, wether you go efi live or ez lynk it doesn’t matter as long as they are delete tunes and not emission compliant tunes. Then you need an aftermarket exhaust as well

Thanks for the video it's really informative. I am looking to do the emissions delete on a 2013 lml duramax I use at my ranch that is currently stuck at 4mph in limp mode from "low quality def". Would the HS Mini Max tuner work well for doing this? Is there a cheaper tuner I can use? I am just looking for the most basic emissions delete.

what year is your truck??? gm has a special coverage warranty for the lml and its def system. 10 years/120k miles. which ever comes first. if deleting is something your willing to wait on anyway
